Spike TV's Video Game Awards 2011

I was surprised Crysis 2 wasn't even nominated for best shooter or best graphics. At least MK and Batman won some awards. Though, Batman should've been GOTY, IMO.

And, Bethesda won best studio? That should've clearly gone to Rocksteady. With MW3 and this getting awards, this show is just a sham.

Most of it was predictable. The only thing that didn't see coming was Skyrim winning GOTY. I figured Batman was gonna win GOTY. But other than that, no you could see who was gonna win right away.

I think Fallout 3 also got GOTY a few years back. I dont remember if Oblivion did. But Bethesda's games are pretty damn big. So I can see why it won.

And was batman really that good? It kind of seemed like it's time came and went somewhat fast, and Skyrim talk just wont go away. But popularity doesnt make a good game though.

well whatever, Skyrim is overated, but it's got alot of depth and I really didnt see anything else winning. I predicted it would win ,and I guess it deserved it.

I'm just glad that I have yet to see a CoD game awarded 'most anticipated game of the year,' yet. After CoD four, it all became the same thing.

My thoughts on the current generation Call of Duty games.

CoD4: There going modern? This is going to be awesome! Later - It is awesome!
CoD5: Back to WW2? Could be interesting... Later - This is... okay...
MW2: Back to Modern Warfare again? Yay! Later - God this is bad...
Blops: Modern war again? I hope it's not as broken as the last one... Later - Just as broken...
MW3: More modern warfare? Isn't it time to try something new? Later - Played it at a friends and... IT'S THE EXACT SAME GAME AS LAST TIME!!!!
 
Wow this was awful. I thought it started out decent and had high hopes it would stay that way, but it just nosedived fast and turned into a televised facepalm (again).
 
im just glad that sony's big surpprise wasnt something stupid like a super smash bros type game, it works with nintendo characters not ps3.
naughty dog's the last of us looks like is going to be an amazing survival horror game, cant wait!!!!

They really weren't.
And I love when the host cracked up and had his nervous laughter when no one laughed at his stupid jokes.
A little monkey we can all make fun of, being paid to say little words on screen to amuse us :laugh:

True that, I'm glad I wasn't disappointed with it either.
 
The best part was the Zelda segment. That was awesome seeing the old Zelda games, especially Ocarina of Time.
 
It's funny...

Spike manages to consistently disappoint us with these, and then we subsequently vow to never watch these awards again, only to watch them the next year anyway.

Imo, Spike is only good for 2 things.
