Sindel Thread-"You are Pathetic and Weak"

Hi guys.

I've decided to add Sindel to my list of characters which include Jade, Nightwolf and Sheeva.

I'm stumped as to why more people are not using her online. I've only been messing about in training room with her so far, but im eager to use her online.

Despite being labelled as a "keep away" character, she has some amazing combos! I do find you need fairl long links if you want to get damage, but some i've found are okay like.

B1, 2, dash, 1, 4, 4. This does about 20% I think. That's a fairly simple one. There is also B1, 2, dash, 3, 1, cartwheel which does around 10 hits for about 23%.

Her B1, 2 at midscreen opens up SO many options for her!

I also found in the corner you can really put the hurt on. Like 3, 1, B2, B1, 2, U3 and uppercut does 30+%. Of course you can completely forget the uppercut and keep that juggle going for longer.

I also found that if you hit U3 in the corner you can catch people with her scream as they land.

Question, her XRay is pretty good. On it's own it does something like 33%. However i've done some long strings, tagged on the XRay and my total damage output was about 25%. Is there a reason her XRay doesn't scale? It hits low as it is, so connecting it in a juggle can be tricky.

There is no point in learning those combos. These are pre patched. Which mean they don't work anymore
I thought so. I didn't think she could combo 4 into a special move. Sorry Jynks, haven't been round enough to go through it. You should learn all of her moveset first and then see what you know from the video. That's when you know you've almost mastered a character :)
 
Is it just me or did they change her combos up a bit? I wasn't able to do the same ones I did before....

Which combos? I know at this moment they increased the gravity on character being comboed by sindel to prevent loops and such also you cannot cancel into her yell anymore but I'm not quite sure how long that's been patched out lol

I found this with her in the corner:

3, 1, B2, U4, 3, 1, XRay... 47% damage. It's quite simple but does high damage. I've played around with other things in the corner but this seems to do the most damage over other strings into XRay. I've noticed her damage scaling is strange in this game. Some strings do high damage where as some do low.

So far, Noob Saibot seems to be the biggest problem for her ive noticed. Also, a couple of JC gave me grief, especially when he's in close.

I wish her scream came out a shade quicker. Sometimes after the B1, 2 launcher you can catch the opponant as they are landing with the scream. I dont find it the greatest anti air either.

On wake up her scream acts like kabals nomad dash :) so its a grate wake up atack

I use the b3 f2 dash 3 1 yell it connects most of the time

In the corner I use jp b3 f2 u4 321 xray :)

Wow, great minds think alike cause I only just found that combo myself recently :D

I didn't realise her scream was good on wake up, I tend to rely on the cartwheel as a bit of a "get off me/wake up" move.

I was messing around around with her again, her B3, F2 opens up some nice opportunities as well.

B3, F2, 1, dash, 1, 1, 1, XRay. This does about 35% and you can get people with this midscreen. Also, if you substitute the XRay for her cartwheel or Hair Grab, you'll do around 24/25% damage.

Her, 2, 1 can be cancelled into XRay, however, her 3, 1 or 1, 1, 1 does significantly more damage. I do like using her 2, 1, Cartwheel on people that panic on whether to block high or low. I've found a huge amount of her strings can be cancelled into XRay. Im sure this is the case with most, I just find with Sindel that her X Ray can be used to end any nice looking string usually.

F3, low fireball does about 2% more damage than F3, medium fireball. Yes it's just 2%, but every % matters :D

Though im not a big fan of her 1, B2 launcher (only because i find this hard to use online in a string, compared to practice mode), 1, B2, 1, B2, uppercut is another 20%+ no brainer combo.

PopnLocker, what else I found you can do in the corner is this:

Jump punch, F3, Scream. Then you can start a juggle. However, for some reason, the F3 cancelled into Scream seems to restrict how much you can juggle afterwards, if say, you started a corner trap without the scream.

Sindel has lots of little tricks up her sleeve and I really think she has tons of potential.

Thanks bro and yea great minds do think alike lol. My X-ray combo I do for her hits 41 44 depending on jump punch

I always thought the only two wakeup moves she had were the step up and hover...I can never land the scream after I get up for some reason, gotta practice more. Been loving Sindel since the first day I got the game. One of the most well rounded characters imo. She's labeled as a keep away zoner, but she's absolutely deadly up close.
 
Found a strong corner combo using one bar.

3,2,B1,F3,ExScream,3,2,B1,uppercut. 39% damage. More with a jp. You can use a normal scream but the window is so small you will mostly miss. Ex scream will always land. This is tricky as you have to time the F3.

In the corner you can do a simpler reset with B3,F2,F3 into scream. Then a combo of your choice like 4,4,U3,air fireball for instance.

I wish her B1 did more damage.

Determined to find some strong combos with Sindel, I've come up with this:

Jp, B3,F2,ExScream, jp, B3,F2,F1,2, hairgrab or cartwheel.

40% damage.

Sometimes you can do regular scream but it misses a lot. This is absolutely the strongest mid screen combo I can find that uses just one bar.
 
Christ, Kabal and Smoke are really hard for her. Kabal can match her for zoning and I would argue could almost be better. He is definitely better than her up close. That dash is faster than her scream as well which bums me out. With the spinning blade projectile you cant even get him with her low projectile for a safe hit confirm.

As for Smoke. Ergh...a Smoke that runs away all day, teleporting as soon as you leave terrafirma is just irritating. He's beatable, but its one of those games where you have to chase him the whole game.

Any who, more deadly Sindel stuff in the corner.

Jp, B3, F2, scream, B3, F2, 44, Ex air fireball. 41% damage. This only requires one bar but sometimes the regular scream doesn't land. You can use Ex scream for a definite confirm, but you really need to add the ex fireball as it adds something like 8-9% to the combo damage so this would require 2 bars if you definitely wanted all of it to hit.
 
What are some of her floating properties? I noticed when I hit D,D,U and do a fireball right away, she automatically de-levitates. If I hang suspended for a few frames I can onslaught a few fireballs. Anyone have any other floating tips with Sindel?
