Resident Evil 1-5 and everything in between =)

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Am I the only one who likes Bertha? C'mon she's a medic going to play a huge role in multiplayer =/

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

After reading some previews about this game, I'm started to lean towards just renting this one as opposed to buying. I'm not liking some of the things that's being said about it

Exactly this, definitely not a day one purpose after I read some previews last week.

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

I read the previews and this is what I have to say:

-It's only march so AI will probably be improved by then
-I'm going to be playing COOP ONLINE like 95% of the time so I'm not going to be bothered by AI partners being stupid
-Even if the AI remains dumb I'm pretty sure most of us are going to be rocking on modes like Heroes mode multiplayer and all the other game modes
-If you expected the "Resident Evil Experience" I don't know what trailers you watched. While I'd love for RE to be survival horror but RE: ORC is made by a dude who helped make SOCOM. It's going to be all action except for a few scares or jumps here and there.

This is definitely still a day one buy for me because I have yet to be let down by a Resident Evil game so I still have high hopes for this.

I was actually watching some in game cut scenes today, I still have hope for this game as well. You made a good point when you said that its still early and that the final game will most likely be improved and polished than what we've seen in the previews. Kind of reminds me when everyone through a ***** fit over how the Mk9 demo wasnt balanced. LOL
As for the "Resident Evil Experience", lets just say that I can and have already accepted the change. The fact that this game takes place in Raccoon City and is at night for the most part already gives it a creepy vibe. I think a huge reason as to why RE5 wasnt so creepy was because most of the beginning was during the daytime, IMO.

As for the trailer I was watching today that has me excited is this one.

:)

My favorite part is at 3:10

"Who the hell are these guys?!"
"Let me ask them........"

Basically this with me as well. Yeah horror and zombies are nice but they needed to get away from it for a change. Hopefully they will go back to it though in RE6.

Maybe 4 and 5 WAS scary to some people and maybe we've just grown up and it's harder to scare us.

While this will probably end up true, I don't really like that. I like my games to be a complete, well-rounded package, I don't like it when games have 2 great modes and 1 shitty one, but that's just me

Great point. This isn't even a main series game, so let Capcom experiment with this game as much as they wish

I beg to differ with the it's harder to scare us Because weve grown up statement. It's all about presentation. Dead space was Pretty sMcary IMO. It had plenty of "oh shit moments" with things popping out. The music and sounds intensified the experience as well. My point: it's not us that's changed, it's because the developers changed the game. They can give us a scary resident evil IF they wanted to. We'll see with number 6

As for REORC, even though we all know it's going to be an action/team tactical game, the atmosphere of the game feels dark and gritty which I really like so far. Horror? Not quite but it's a step in the right direction, imo

Re4 scared me on my first playthrough but not the events, just being alone and not knowing what was coming next.

"Do I have enough ammo?"
"Is there a boss in the next room?"
"When is the next typewriter?!"

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

1 thing was kind of scary in Resident Evil 4

Regenerators;

The noise the make is kind of creepy. And the fact they are kind of hard to kill and they flop around all excorsist wise when you blow off their legs. Adds to the creep factor.

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

^ After seeing that I'm not even going to attempt to finish RE4 :afraid:
