Resident Evil 1-5 and everything in between =)

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

if its taken place after RE2, it'll be cool.. if its not, man i don't know its going to be difficult killing him

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Wow fail, I need to use moar search button. Also I really liked Leon in RE4 but I have no qualms about killing him. Additionally I'm quite confused on how the fact that you can become a zombie will work.

I'm so not going to kill Leon.

You get bit----->Zombies stop attacking you and you are still normal------->Becomes zombie eventually------->Kill enemy as much as you can-------->Get killed------->Respawn as human------->Repeat (if bitten again)

Yes but what happens if you Zombify Leon? What happens if you Zombify your partner? What happens if Nemesis tries to attack you when you are a zombie? Can you contract the T-Virus? The whole concept is very confusing to me but I like it and it is a welcome change.

Well if you are that much of an ***hole to attack your own teammate as a zombie.....
I doubt you can zombify Leon.

Wait a minute. I'm pretty sure if you become a zombie in story mode that counts as dying. I'm talking about multiplayer.

I was talking about story I'm thinking the Zombie mechanic is in story mode when played as Co-op.

Also I really hope you can get the T-Virus.

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Man, I've been waiting for a new RE. Can't wait till this comes out.

I did a search and my heart hurt when I saw threads for other RE games but not my beloved RE1.

I don't know why they made Chris looked all messed up on the cover but he is actually a hottie and none of you can have him <3

BE WARNED, I added spoiler tags to a part in the quote and it is a REALLY good part of the game so I seriously encourage people who have not played it to not read that part and play the game. You may figure it out as the game goes along but, if not, it's a great twist!

Other versions include the REMake for GameCube, Director's Cut/Director's Cut Duelshock for PS1, Deadly Silence for DS, RE for Windows and Sega Saturn and Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil for the Wii.

Anyways, moving on to the best game ever =)

The original game opens on the evening of July 24, 1998 in the fictional Midwestern town of Raccoon City where a number of grisly murders had taken place on the outskirts of town. Victims were attacked in their homes by a group of assailants with evidence of cannibalism. Baffled by the strange nature of the cases, the Raccoon City Police Department sent in the S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team. Their mission was to investigate a mysterious mansion out in the woods... A mission they would not return from.

After contact was lost with their compatriots, S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team quickly mobilized to find out what happened. Alpha team located the downed Bravo team helicopter, but only one body was found - the pilot Kevin Dooley, dead in the helicopter. The other six members were no where to be found... Alpha team quickly spread out to look for clues. As the group fanned out, Joseph Frost located a severed hand clutching a pistol. Frost was quickly beset by a pack of Cerberus and fatally mauled. Alpha team pilot Brad Vickers panicked and flew off, stranding the remaining four members: Captain Wesker, Barry Burton, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.

With no other options, the group took refuge inside what they believed to be an abandoned mansion (during the run, Chris Redfield loses his handgun. Players don't begin with it when they play as Chris). Though they find out later in the game that this mansion is in reality the Arklay Laboratory disguised as a mansion and owned by the Spencer Family. Depending on which character the player chooses, one of the four survivors will get separated from the others - Barry if playing as Chris, and Chris if playing as Jill. It is at this point that the player takes control of either Chris or Jill to explore the mansion.

Regardless of who is chosen, the first major discovery is the dead body of Bravo team member Kenneth J. Sullivan, having been eaten alive by a zombie. Another member, Forest Speyer is found - having been wounded and eventually pecked to death by crows. (Speyer will reanimate in the Director's Cut and the REmake.) The mansion is overrun with vicious monsters - ranging from zombies and zombie dogs, to giant spiders and even hostile plant-like creatures. Scattered documents and computer discs suggest that a series of experiments have been executed on the property by the Umbrella Corporation. The monsters are the results of these experiments, which have exposed humans and various animals to a specially engineered biological agent known as the t-virus (hence the Japanese title "Biohazard").

Throughout the game, Jill is aided by the veteran Barry Burton, while Chris works with Bravo team rookie Rebecca Chambers. The house abounds with strange and deadly puzzles and traps that must be overcome to advance. After navigating a series of tunnels, passageways, and other buildings on the property, Chris/Jill discover a secret underground laboratory containing detailed records of the Umbrella Corporation's experiments.
Spoiler:
It's here that Wesker reveals himself as an Umbrella Agent to the player (and their respective partner). He then releases a giant monstrous humanoid called the "Tyrant T-002," (created through prolonged exposure to the t-virus) but the creature turns on him and impales him with its clawed left hand.

Shortly after Chris/Jill defeat the Tyrant, the wounded Wesker triggers a self-destruct program to ensure an end to the laboratory and the experiments held there. The player at last is able to contact Brad to rescue them, but the Tyrant bursts through the roof of the lab onto the chopper landing pad. Now resistant to bullets, the Tyrant can finally be defeated with a Rocket Launcher that is tossed to the player by Brad Vickers. With the super powerful weapon, the Tyrant is completely destroyed. Chris/Jill escape into the chopper before the Spencer Mansion explodes and the game ends.

The ending sequence varies depending on choices made by the player as he/she explored the mansion. So long as the player escaped with two teammates, the ending plays out as described above. Rescuing only one or none of your teammates changes the outcome, in particular the fate of the laboratory and the Tyrant.

Soundtrack (not all songs, just some)

The Game

If you can play the game in the dark with the volume up and not shit yourself, kudos to you, cuz I've been playing it for 15 years and I still end up making a mess in my pants. I am actually home alone right now and was listening to the soundtrack there as I was posting it and I am now fearing for my life.

Re: Resident Evil (PS1)

Jade loves RE1 as much as I do RE3, which is a lot :P
I do like the RE1 soundtrack though. It's a lot better than the soundtracks that have came out in the past 10 years (RE wise). Though my favorite song on any of the RE OST is
If you don't get chills by listening to that, there's something wrong with you. RE1 is my 3rd favorite in the series (RE3,Dead Aim, RE1/REmake)

BUT ANYWAYS. RE1 is great and the REmake is just as good (I won't say better because they both have certain qualities that make them special in their own ways). Chris' mode is harder and better than Jill's too. **** you, Jill.

Re: Resident Evil (PS1)

Funny how much more normal Chris looks in that picture.

RE1 is my life <3

The amount of time spent playing that game over and over and over again, making fanfics and scripts about it, reading the novels, spending ridiculous amounts of money on it....I don't know if it's even healthy to obsess over something that much.

When it first came out, I didn't have a PS1 yet, so my dad would rent it from Blockbuster Video for weeks on end and that was the second game I ever played on PlayStation (the first was Darkstalkers).

The funny thing is, my older brother was telling me and my younger brother about it and I was the one who was like 'meh, whatever, I want Darkstalkers' so we rented both and I played it that night and have been obsessed with it ever since, while my brothers don't even bother with anything RE related and laugh that I still play it, lol.

We didn't have a memory card (obviously, since we didn't own the console at that time) so I remember FINALLY making it to the first fight with Yawn at 4am one night on summer vacation. My brother used to watch me play because he was too scared to play so we were so excited to finally get somewhere and I was eaten :/

So disappointing.

Re: Resident Evil (PS1)

Hell yeah. I got RE: Directors Cut and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis on sale on PSN last weekend. I only need Code Veronica 4 and 5 now. :)

Now to start playing the original and stare at some Chris ass for a while.

Re: Resident Evil (PS1)

You should also get Code Veronica! Just ignore Steve, he's an annoying *****, and RE 2 is goddamn amazing, my second fav in the series.

Re: Resident Evil (PS1)

Game would have been way better without Steve.

In the first game, I was itching to play as Barry at some point....so much for that. Would have been awesome, though.

I like both Chris and Jill but I like Chris's story better because of the difficulty. Jill's is way too easy.

Re: Resident Evil (PS1)

love RE1 but i've never liked that the fact that killed of characters like joseph frost who could have played a better role in the story than just being killed off in a cutscene.
