Rain Discussion ~ All Rain Related Topics Go Here

Played through Arcade mode a little with Rain, he kind of sucks. His specials are decent, it's his terrible combos that kill it for me. Not only are the button-layouts incredibly awkward (triangle, square+triangle WTF) but they aren't that effective. Really makes me leery to spend money on other DLC characters.

Any advice on how to use Rain effectively?

All the hate on Boon for not including Tremor is rather unnecessary. I wanted they guy too, and yea his reasoning wasnt exactly sound but I'm not gonna act all spoiled about it. I mean he didn't create the character in the first place, and of course when it comes down to it it's his call. People can be so fickle and completely forget about the overall fanservice this game has been as far as th roster goes, and is an excellent game. Be grateful for a great fighter instead of being so quick to focus on the few negatives.

more videos guys, including 3 tag teams, 10 / 12 mins of online Rain action, a mini Rain fatalities tribute, an expert ladder, ladder practice, stage fatality on Kenshi and a match vs CSZ:

lol at this, Rain doesnt suck, he's awesome, you just need to learn the timings.

Which is somewhat difficult, imagine an online match using Rain, might be a pain.

But in the end is very rewarding.

I barely play online, I cant stand the lag, the delay and the scorpion cloning machine, I dont find the fun on it, I play with friends and arcade a lot.

I think Rain is sweet! He may be difficult to master, but once you do master him, he is just unstoppable and fun to play with :)

The thing about Rain that I love is that they didn't make a scrubby/Scorpion-type character that a lot of people could easily pick up and play with and call it a day. They actually put some TLC and effort in his style of gameplay by making him a juggle beast and making him difficult to master. They made him unique. This shows that NRS has respect for the character, even if fan demand was the main factor behind making Rain DLC.

Ed Boon mocks Rain a lot, but in actuality, I think he likes him a lot more than we might think.

The only fact that: When he's released as DLC, a Message of the Day specifically sates it, that the Purchase Rain appears on start up and the fuzz they made off him just proves it :)

Heh, I'm no Rain-hater, I love him. Maybe you should calm down, because Rain is more MK then Baraka OR Sheeva (because I hope to god you aren't fans of them and NOT Rain).

lol rain was put in the last second because boon was joking around and was probably listening to too much prince, or was stoned.
Not that I hate him, but he is the least important character of the original games.
