PS3ers: Do you trust PSN now?

PSN cards.

Im not from US, so my credit cards dont work on PSN, though I never use credit cards to buy online stuff.

I'm too lazy to look for PSN cards so I use my card to buy games and DLC. After the purchase, I delete my card from my account and put it back on if I wanna get something off PSN.

psn cards only, i will never trust sony again. yesterday my playstation plus expired and then my ps3 died. hmmmmmm...?

I use PSN cards as well. I just don't trust them with credit card info.

Not a bad idea! never thought of that.....

well i
buy everything online with psn card's (pre paid) I trust sony do to the fact they gave free 1million dollar id theft insurance but i never like giving out personal information over the web.

i trust sony completely

I do.

As with anything, you run the risk every time you use your credit card info. What happened to Sony could happen to any company really. If everyone had such huge trust issues, they shouldn't have given their info away in their first place. PSN cards are a great alternative to using an actual card. And clearing your info after making a purchase is another solution.

So yes, I trust Sony wholeheartedly.

Total trust in them. Again its totally the media blowing things out of proportion. Granted there was a massive risk but was anything really confirmed about actual details been stolen other than the hackers had access?
Sony did the right thing shutting down psn for a while, i think everyones over it or should be over it. I have used a psn card the other month but i added funds the other day using my card. Perhaps it is stupid of me but i really think the chances of any of your card details been taken and used for fraud, are as high or as equal to as say shopping on Amazon.
Do you go out and buy gift cards for online retailers every time you want to purchase something? If you do purchase cards for PSN for that reason, why not any where else? What makes you think that its safer to use your card anywhere on the internet?
Its usually pretty safe, but there are risks involved as with anything, but to be fair there more positive outcomes than there are negatives when it comes to using cards on the internet. Just keep track of your statements, notice anything odd, contact your bank, simple.

I never trusted them, it's a free service with shitty security.
you only say that to warrant the amount you pay to play games online, the basic principles are there on both consoles, the option to play online or waste your money on dlc. If folk wanted to hack microsoft they would, no companies immune from hacking no matter how good security they have

I still trust them. It's one incident in the five years I've had my PS3, and like DCP said, there will always be a risk. I don't think Sony is the clueless company everyone makes them out to be.
