PS3 or XBOX360 - Why chose one over the other?

Even if the PSP and Vita suck, at least Sony has portable devices at all! Why don't Microsoft and Nintendo make portables systems I can't say, but Sony is way ahead of the curve with it. Imagine all the money they get with people buy the systems, games, dlc's for the games and what not.

I think it's because of the exclusives Armon.

I can't see me playing Halo or Gears of War on a portable system.

And I have played Halo on psp. My god did it suck.

The PSN fiasco was because it got hacked.
PSN has money in an account vs points.
I heard point's don't roll over, while my balance has been like 6 dollars for two years.

I chose PS3 mainly because it runs BluRay discs - so I won't need to buy a BluRay player - has free online (although it may be laggy at times) and it's compatible with most of my PS2 accessories. Also, the X360 exclusives are mostly FPS games, and I'm not exactly an FPS fan. And since MK was basically the game that made me buying a new-gen console, having an extra character surely counted a few points for Sony...

yeah but psn kinda sucks. the psn fiasco last year proved that.

How did it prove PSN sucks? Microsoft doesn't employ IT security that PSN doesn't. Sony just made themselves a bigger target by threatening legal action against a group of very angry people. Check your facts before making baseless statements.

I don't have either, but I'm thinking if I ever buy one, it will be PS3 for these same reasons.

Or a Killer Instinct in over a decade...

The main reason for that is because even though Microsoft owns Rare and its IPs, Nintendo also holds copyright claims to the KI IP, which effectively puts the entire IP in copyright limbo, especially when both copyright holders just happen to be first party companies.

use to have a ps3 and when i compare psn to xbox live, live blows psn out of the water. interface is better, use-ablity is better. plus i dont recall microsoft having any security issues.

I've played a fair amount on Xbox360 when I lived with my parents. Only thing I ever wanted to play on it was Halo. I didn't like Gears of war but who cares about this it's opinion based.

I only got the PS3 first because of my huge MGS4 fanboyism.

from there extended more games. and I'm even more glad with my purchase now than I ever was because unlike my brother I've never had to send in my PS3 and I treat that thing like shit. I leave it on 24hours straight at a time. Fall asleep with it on. ect ect ect. And for 5 years nothing bad has happened to it.

Also Xbox service being better? did you know Microsoft sent my brother apparently another 360 (From the broken models first gen) that he bought when he sent it in for his warranty. It's like Microsoft knew it would last just long enough the warranty would wear off. Because only about 8 months after the warranty was off, it red ring'd and my brother had to buy ANOTHER one. Now he has no problems though but that is some shady business dealing right there.

Xbox is a good system, IMO if you love FPS. Otherwise I believe you should go PS3 all the way for overall better experience. I don't know how people are claiming PS3 online is worse than Xbox. are we talking about little bitty options or something? or we talking lag? Because I never experience lag on my end on my PS3. I have lagless games after lagless games. Once in a blue moon it lags but I find out it's because me and a specific player are trying to play together. I notice absotluely no difference when i play with my brother online on Xbox360, than when I play PS3 online.

And ever since then, i've been nothing but satisfied with PS3 exclusives, (Xbox please try and make perhaps a non FPS good exclusive?)(Once again this is opinionated).

Also although my brother loves Xbox360, he's always wanted a PS3 because of our exclusives. MGS/Twisted Metal ect ect. but I've never once wanted a Xbox360. The only reason I thought about it recently was for the sole purpose of playing with some friends who are xbox exclusive.

btw PC gaming all the way.

EDIT: btw this is all my personal experience, I haven't done too much research myself besides playing on the second player port while my brother navigated through Xbox360 interface. So don't take anything I say as 100% fact. Most of what I said is personal opinion.

it will 30 can serve as a ratio of 300 0r 3000

IMO

well IMO... It's not a fair accurate representation of statistics. As a MK site where playing MK would be better on hitbox/PS3 controllers. You might have more PS3 players than normal on a site like this. Where as if you went to like Call of Duty boards or something. Probably more Xbox than PS3 normally.

That's where I draw my opinionated basis from.

well imo call of duty is pretty even on sales depending on platform

and even though the controllers thing is a valid argument it should apply only to an extent not a %100 determining factor there is still a fair enough amount of xbox and ps3 players
