Problems with MKAK...

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the lag after coming back from the pause menu. You better know those Fatalities by heart, because it lags up when you come back from reading them.

Well it's even more reason to memorize, right? There's always a bright side. I'm sure this will be patched, as well as the other issues that exist. They aren't hard fixes, either.... so be glad all of these complaints are fairly easy fixes.

Lol I'm only able to do Johnny Cage's MKI fatality and Baraka's MKII fatality.
I want to do babalities, friendships, and animalities.. but Just can't pull them off.
 Guess I just suck

The fatality time is a bit quick, and I have a feeling this may get patched as well. Though I can tell you from owning Mortal Kombat 2, that yes, the fatality timer is VERY short in the arcades. Which is why I kind of like it that way, it makes it harder to pull of fatals and hence, they're more appreciated when done.

I like the short timer but the timer isn't throwing me off, It's the button input.
Idk, maybe it's just weird for me.
(And I grew up on the Klassics)

I just really wanted MK1 to finally be Arcade Perfect! Even in MK: Deception it wasnt PERFECT! They just can never get it right... They should have worked with MAME for this. It would have been done right the first time!!!

I keep hearing about the move list in the options menu.....I CANNOT access this list for some reason!! I can't even move the cursor over it. Anyone know what's up with that?

These ports are unacceptable. 20 years later there is no reason we shouldn't have perfect ports. There is no excuse so stop making them. It's just laziness that this isn't perfect. I really am dissapointed.

Are you trying to access it before that match begins? You can only select it during the actual fights, it'll be greyed before FIGHT! and after tha last hit of a round.

Fixed: You can now save your unlocked UMK3 fighters.
Added: You can now put multiple filters on your games, making them suit your liking.
Added: You can also make the screen look like it's in an arcade format.
Added: Online play for Mortal Kombat 1.

Lost: Fullscreen ability
Lost: Spectator mode

Glitches: A few minor sound bugs, computer attacking before "Fight" disappears of the screen sometimes, not being able to move after unpausing the game, not able to use kombat kodes online and lag online.

Glitches = patchable / fixable. And pretty easily, at that.
Lost = no big deal, really.
All in all, this -IS- a superior port than MKAT, you can now save your characters, play MK 1 and 2 online, and set up your filters to your liking.
Guys, seriously? OH, let's not forget: This also has a limited edition MK1 arcade stick. So if you bought the arcade stick with this game, you really lost nothing and shouldn't complain. If you straight up downloaded this game, relax, it was 10$. Give it a few weeks before going balls to the wall insane, and see what fixes they come up with. I'm sure they'll come up with something, they usually do patch/fix things, especially lag issues. For your own peice of mind, email Other Ocean.

But really, there's no reason to go hating on Ed Boon, or to bring Danny into this or anyone else. Other Ocean developed the game. Ed Boon probably briefly saw the game and had the same reaction we all did: "Nice port, better than MKAT". There's no reason to jump the gun. QA issues, yes, they probably should have play-tested better. But that's hard to do when you have deadlines. And deadlines are part of the industry.
Again, the beautiful thing is, there are always ways to patch things. So stop moaning on the forum, make a constructive thread (I think I saw one already, to whoever used my idea, good job!) and start being pro-active so the game receives the fixes it needs. Once those fixes are into place, you'll literally have as close of a port as you can get.
But even then I'm sure there's going to be something wrong with it, right? Like maybe Kitana's boobs are too big, or something. *rolls eyes*.
C'mon guys, seriously here.
It's OK to be constructive and to vent, but mkgame, for you to go off on those rants, it was a bit over the top.
If you're in love with SF go ahead and enjoy third strike. I'm a MK fanatic, and I'll be patient and wait for the guys who I have faith in and have always had faith in (The MK team) to at least patch up the lag, as let's face it, I am sure they will.

You guys always set your expectations far too high.
You can't just expect these guys to deliver an arcade machine to your door. And while yes, MAME is an amazing arcade perfect port, and while yes, I do see your frustration that a pirated arcade game is better quality than what's on consoles, keep in mind programming stuff on an emulator like MAME may be easier than doing it for a console operating system to read. The XBOX 360 / PS3 is a tad complex, you know?
I'm not by far a computer programmer so I do not understand how it works, but I've got enough common sense to realize that MAME emulating on a program (that, by the way, MAME took YEARS to make), and emulating for consoles where you have a corporate deadline, are two different things.
Vent your anger at corporate america, not at the guys who busted their asses to do their best in that short amount of time given to them. Be constructive and try to get patches made. If you're polite then these guys will work over the top for you, if you're rude and pissy, they'll be less inclined to do a good job even if a patch is 'demanded'. Think about it.

WOW! Finally someone with a positive attitude. lol
I'm also enjoying the game. :)

Not Ed Boon's PR agent. I'm just someone who 'gets it'. I use common sense. I also am appreciative of hard work when I see it. 6 months to emulate 3 games, plus give them online play and design / draw brand new menus and add multiple filters to each character / background? Plus re-code UMK3 to allow you to save your characters? Yeah, hard work, given you only have so much time in a day and time in general. Considering these guys had to scrap the HD remake MID PROCESS to get this done, I'd say they busted their asses.
I'm quite happy with it, and I'm very thankful for everyone who worked on it and I hope they do patch these issues, which, I am sure they will.

Sorry, as a consumer Im going to ***** about something if its not up to par. If we all just say "oh ok, well they tried, good for them", then we just get handed piles of sh$t. ITs called being a consumer and voicing your concerns. I just cant imagine any1 anticipating this who played mk1,2 and umk3 in the arcades competetively being satisfied with this. Did they really have a STONE COLD deadline? IT couldnt be pushed back at least to fix the lag online? For christs sake people I play are using charachters with simple pop up combos because all the other ones are impossible. I see missed combo after missed combo including myself. Its just a sh$t show online. I cant even do a simple mileena roll, run in hp, roll, jumpkick. Cant do nighwolfs normal combo to double axe. And we should be happy that it freezes our ps3? Considering they have to do basically zero work to port this over compared to making a game from scratch and they have no packaging costs since its dload only, I expect something decent for my 10 bux. I hope gamespot or ign rips this in half quick so they come up with a patch asap.

So, they scrapped the HD remake for this? Damn. I wish that project was never dropped... it would've been a much needed fresh breeze over these classics.

And.. how is this voicing your concerns? If you really want it changed, email Other Ocean, and start making videos pointing out the sound bugs, and other glitches, and make a thread showcasing all of this.
Posting multiple threads bashing a developer is going to make them LESS LIKELY to want to help you.
And I hate to tell ya but uhm...
I doubt IGN is going to bash 3 MK games for 10 dollars that have online capability, even if there IS lag it won't get 'ripped in half' like you are hoping. And why would ANY MK fan hope that a game gets 'ripped in half' that has the MK seal? Don't you want this series to do well, get positive press and gain more players and community, so you have more voice in the next games?

Honestly, if they keep pumping this kind of shit, to hell with nrs (any other company as well). I'm not gonna get jerked around and milked for money, it's as simple as that.

I can't think of any other word right now, other than these two:
*FACE PALM*.
Look, nobody put a gun to your head to buy these games. If you cannot wait like a patient human being for a patch or fix, then be my guest to never buy another MK arcade game, ever again....

*1 year later*
E3 MORTAL KOMBAT 10 IS ANNOUNCED!!!
*You: OMG! MK10! IM BUYING IT AHHH ITS AWESOME!

*3 months after release date*
You: OMG THIS IS BROKE! AHH! YOU ALL SUCK AHHH!

This is a vicious cycle, and if our community is going to get as big as SF's and be taken as seriously as SF's, then this kind of attitude has to stop in the majority of you.

i would like to take a moment and say Johnny_Cage is the man! i read his posts regarding mkak and couldn't agree more

I'm not special nor am I trying to upset anyone in any of these threads. My friends call me a voice of reason because I am.
We can get this patch put out faster the sooner you stop screaming at air and the sooner you start making YouTube videos showcasing what's wrong about the game. You want a patch? Be pro-active, because there IS more you can do than you THINK!
Here, I'll start it for you:

I made a thread for you all. Please be constructive and help contribute to the future of a patch.
I'm not here to 'fight', just here to help.

Really? So if went out a bought, say... a new computer, I shouldn't be pissed if it's broken out of box, because "no one put a gun to my head"? No, that is a load of garbage. That's what testing is for and if (at this point it seems) you disregard that completely, I'm not gonna by a damn thing from you, because you obviously don't give two shits about me or anyone else you sell you product to! And you can guarantee that I'm not gonna buy MK10 right off the bat this time around! Besides the fact that I'm not really having much fun with the series anymore (the story's the only thing I really enjoyed about this game (not sure why though?)), I just don't feel proper effort has been brought to the table. Yeah the graphics are great, but the online still blows imo and they went on about how damn great it was. The part that blows my mind is that I EXPECTED this, as I do any other game that has an online feature, but they (an other company) FIX it! Maybe I just expected too much from a company that's been around about as long as I have...
