Ok we need to talk about the lack of female characters!

Ferra is nothing more than an accessory or human projectile. She does as much as the demon's Quan Chi summons in his moveset. Had they let us switch between both (like Noob/smoke), then she would be counted

The shadow was part of Noob. Ferra and Tor are two separate characters. For Roster numbers though, they should be counted as one since they are a duo.

Their bio mentions that they're symbiotic though. Bound together long ago they're pretty close to the same level as Noob and his Shadow.

The only reason people don't count Ferra is because it suits their "lack of female characters" argument.

She counts, and that's that.

She does as much as the demon's Quan Chi summons in his moveset.

Last time I checked, the demon Quan Chi summons wasn't the entire personality of the character.

Close, but Ferra and Torr each possess their own individuality more so than Noob and his shadow clone that only exists when summoned.

I don't give a shit about how many female fighters there are. There's only one I care about, the rest can kick rocks to make room for robots and ninjas.

She doesn't even appear in one of his variations. You're kidding yourself if you don't think she's just a weapon.

As far as playability is concerned, Torr is much more dominant. Basic movements and the majority of the attacks are done through Torr. He also takes all of the damage. There are few moves where Ferra assists Torr, but she seems to sit around half the time.

Are you talking about Ferra? Because she's right there in the fight in all 3 variations. Even in the "Lackey" variation, she jumps in for the x-ray, talks in intros, etc..

Torr would be nothing without Ferra. Just another boring mute hulk character. Ferra is the entire personality of the two. You're kidding yourself if you think she's "just a weapon".

Gameplay-wise? Yeah. She's a weapon. Just as Raiden's arms are a weapon. Sonya's legs are a weapon. Kitana's fans are a weapon. Everything is pretty much used as a weapon. But she's still a separate character within the game. Even if we don't have as much control over her as we do Torr.

Completely disagree. Had more characters had a female attached to them, people would still complain. It's not about a lack of female's in the sense of being female, but the lack of female characters that you can play with. Had more characters had a little woman attached to them, people still wouldn't be satisfied. Ferra serves no purpose to the Ferra/Torr character aside from being Torr's 'personality.' There are a lot of fans who main females, them fans aren't gonna main Torr for the sake of Ferra.

Mechanically, Ferra isn't that different from the majority of assist characters who are part of a duo. In Blazblue, Carl's assistant, Nirvana, can be controlled by the player to greater degree than most, yet she isn't counted as a character.

It's difficult to count Ferra as playable character when her role is pretty limited. In terms of story, Ferra will probably dominate as she is the one that does all the talking, but that's a different subject altogether.

I'd like to see Tanya and Nitara in MKX, but NOT because they are female characters! I'd like them to be in the game, because I like them as characters and I see potential in them which would be cool to see come to fruition in MKX.

So can we just agree =

Ferra counts in story/lore as a female character. Doesn't count as a playable character.

I think we can all agree on that..

I usually count her as a ½ when counting female characters in MKX. :P
So we have Cassie, Jacqui, Sonya, D'vorah, Kitana, Mileena and Ferra. That is 6½ female characters.

Yes, 7 females, But 6 playable female characters.

How is Ferra not playable? Ferra/Torr's special moves involve Ferra doing things. You press buttons, and those buttons being pressed make Ferra do things. Does being playable hinge on getting beat up? I didn't realize that was part of the definition.

Ferra is just Torr's brain, you don't consider Raiden's brain a character.

It's a bit extreme but that's kind of what people mean (my very self included).

It's not that Ferra isn't playable, but rather that she is just one half of a full playable character, Torr being the other half.
