What scares me (well, not really...) is that you will have to spend so many hours on EVERY character to be somewhat good; I remember I spent at least TWO days on each character in Soul Calibur IV, but that was a different and more complex game.
I agree, they didn't add a "custom combo" system if you have to just copy other players' style. I think that is where most of the fun resides.
And if I suck who cares, it will be a lot of fun anyway, unless the AI difficulty is low like in the demo or frustrating/near unplayable like in MKII...
Indeed, getting good with all the characters will definitely take time, and patience. Because even though I love the whole roster (for the first time ever), I will always have my favorites that will detract me from learning other characters. I'm sure that's the case for many fans.
The combo making is heaps of fun, and addictive too. I like that you referred to it as style; creating a unique style is a goal of mine. As for the difficulty of the game, that's where we differ. Give me hell. Too much MK2 has made me expect that kind of ramp.
Anyway I think you will enjoy the game no matter what.
