Official Anime Discussion

Has anyone seen The Devil Is A Part Timer? I started it last night when looking for something to watch on Netflix. I went in with little to no expectations and I actually like it.

It's about Satan and his servant trying to take over their world Ente Isla, and they start to lose the battle, so Satan and his servant retreat into this portal that leads them to modern day Tokyo and they're stuck in human forms with no magic, so they find jobs to survive for the time being until they find a way back to Ente Isla. Shortly after Satan arrives in Tokyo, 'the hero' from the Ente Isla comes through the portal to kill Satan.

It's a good watch if you're wanting to watch an anime that doesn't take itself seriously.

I saw it and I thought it was alright for the most part. It was funny in the beginning but then dropped off halfway for me
 
anyone ever heard of Lauging under the clouds?

It's an alright anime with a cool art style but the plot felt kinda weak (but the twists made up for it in spades except for one that felt like a cop out) rather uninteresting cast and it is INSANELY SHORT (i think that helps it to some extent though)



but if anyone is feeling suicidal I dare yall to sit through one episode of Skelter Heaven just one
 
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders is back. Right now, waiting for 2nd episode (26th overall) of new season to come on this Friday. The 6th member (don't wanna spoil the name for those who haven't watched or most of all, read the manga) of the Joestar Crusaders is hilarious in the anime. Good thing that member is on our side. :) Btw, here is the new intro for this season of JoJo: SC-

 
Since I finished school and currently have no job and looking for one, on my down time I've been watching Gurren Lagann and it's a damn good show. Get ready for some feels though. Has anyone checked it out? If so, what's your opinion on it?

I liked it, it's pretty high up on one of my favorites and I usually hate robot based animes. It gets kind of ridiculous, but in a hype way IMO.

It's the best anime to watch if you're getting into competitive gaming. Because it increases your real life fighting spirit first time through lol

It's growing to be one of my favorite animes. It definitely brings out the hype in it that's for sure and the ridiculousness is what I really love about it. I really like how there's action in pretty much every episode. I'm so used to DBZ and watching 3 episodes of nothing happening and then when something finally does happen it's the end of the episode lol.

For the most part I don't mind mech animes, there's just not that many that I get interested in. I know Neon Genesis Evangelion is supposed to be one of the top-tier animes but I watched the first I think 5 episodes and I just could not get into it at all.

I believe that's because Shinji kills it for some people. He's too realistically scared/depressed as a kid should be in that situation. People want strong protagonists, not ones that cry and complain the entire time.

Yeah that pretty much hits the nail on the head. Shinji is just way too much of a bich. I'm alright with depressed and scared characters (I'm always depressed too!) but when you're such a bich that you can actually make me stop watching the show, then that's a problem. I know I'm being pretty harsh for a person who has only watched about 5 episodes or so, but still. Shinji had no depth to him whatsoever. Meanwhile on the other hand, Simon from Gurren Lagann had plenty of character in the first 3 episodes (again, I know I'm comparing a 27 episode series to a 50+ episode and 3+ movie series). I actually wanted to get into NGE just because of Rei. I know plenty of cosplayers who cosplayed as Rei and she seemed like a pretty cool character, but I stopped watching NGE right when she got into the picture. I might give it another go one day, but as of right now, it's on the very bottom of my 'need to watch' list.
 
Couldn't get into Gurren Lagann for some reason. Back in highschool, the leader of the anime club had shown us a few episodes from the start, but it just never clicked with me.
 
I finished Gurren Lagann the other night and wow. That ending was nothing but a feels trip, man. Those last 10 minutes of the last episode were pretty heart breaking to say the least. A friend I met at a con a few weeks back saw I was watching Gurren Lagann and told me I wasn't ready for the feels and he was completely right.

I noticed something was wrong once Simon was able to rescue Nia and she was inside Gurren Lagann and she flickered for a split second. Then you see the look Simon gives her and I just knew some bad shit was gonna happen with her, but I honestly thought she was going to sacrifice herself or something, I wasn't expecting her to just disappear after the wedding thing her and Simon had.

He really was. He definitely gave the hype too, especially with his constant screaming of random names for moves.

It's not bad for what it is. It's a funny fan service anime that borders on being soft core furry porn (no nudity I've seen yet, just a lot of cleavage and butt) Though I don't consider cat girls to be furry, but I guess everyone else does.
