Ah who told to see that Goosh Goosh thing, its so sick.I always get really disturbed by Japanese cartoons and the amount of pervert stuff in it.

I hate anime. Only thing I'll watch is Hell Boy, the Dead Space movies, and thats about it. Other wise it's the rare funny crap my bf finds on netflix.

Yeah, good question, especially since this thread is about it and I see no reason to be in it unless you dig some anime. Thread title's "What are some of your favorite anime", not "Do you love or hate anime". Way to look cool.

Dude, you've watched Birdy? :D One of my costumes I was going to bring to AB was Birdy Cephon/Shion Arita. Oh, and I just started Moribito today, it's pretty interesting.

It's a bit slow paced, but it's got some episodes I REALLy like.

The one where she (becomes a Tiger) metaphorically

And the one about her past with Shinjuro

It's a really cute show. I like it, a LOT. It's cute, interesting and well thought-out shoes like that which rekindle my faith that anime hasn't completely gone down the proverbial toilet.

Thanks to this I might think of finishing my Birdy costume. Hmn. I did order stuff for my other costume today though (Tsubaki).

I've seen a few episodes of Birdy on Netflix. It was ok, not enough to keep me coming back though.

It gets better later...

It's hard to convince people to give something a harder try. I felt the same way you did at first, but I chugged on through and then it started to really grab my attention.

Same with ERgo Proxy. I was like "HYPE" first 2 episodes... then for like 7 episodes straight I was like "Wtf..." Then it picked back up again and I was enjoying it alot.

Some animes spend too much time lollygagging around the main point and it takes away your interest. But their main point is awesome... you just sometimes have to tough it out to see it.



For instance Naruto...

I actually liked it at first... but when It got around to getting 100+ episodes and 90% of them are filler from the main plotline.... I said **** this shit.

Read the Naruto manga somewhere up to the chunin exam before I stopped following. I wasn't so much that I didn't like it, but rather being overwhelmed by how long the series has been running (and still going) and discovering other comics of interest along the way. I tried watching the anime, but I couldn't sit through it for some reason. I don't know if it was the pacing or what, but I lost my desire to watch it.

I think most western audiences don't have a whole lot of patience. When I decide to watch an anime, I usually give it about 6-8 episodes (if it's a full season show) to get what its about. Great American TV shows never get to the point in 2 or 3 episodes, so I don't see the big complaint some have over that.

Naruto was great until right after the Sasuke retrieval mission with Naruto, Shikamaru, Neji, Choji, etc.

Then it wasn't good again until Shippuden.
