Mortal Kombat X Kollector's Editions Announced!

Wow I realized that I might be in the minority here...

OPEN QUESTION:

Who on this forum (besides you, Jinko, I know you collect a lot) is going to buy all the DLC for the sake of it?

Most likely me. I am pretty much doing jump of faith with this game. I already burned with Unity, but this would be first game where would I invest this much money.

Also Ikonic dlc characters confirms one thing. No post-MK3 kharacters (or just can't think of any Ikonic kharacter post-MK3). So most likely there will be cyrax and sektor among those DLC. So more reason to buy it.

Honestly, I don't even care about any of the figurines, comics, etc. I just want a flawless game. I know NRS is going all out for the PS4 and Xbox, but I am nervous about the PC version. Graphically it will be on top of any other console (obviously) but that doesn't mean it will be better. Has anyone heard or found out yet, if NRS is personally working on the PC version or did they sub it out to some other company?

I like to think MK4 is a classic too, with all its flaws.

I cannot give you 100% guarantee, but I think this question was asked 4 months ago and it seems NRS are directly working on PC version. They don't wanna make the same mistake, High Voltage did with that piss poor "port" which MK9 was.
So yes there is a great hope.

I'll be getting both the Steelbox & the Coarse set no doubt. My MK fandom stays strong. I really want the Cold War Scorpion skin, but I don't want to shell out another hundo for it. Maybe I could buy it off someone.

I don't even like Scorpion, but god damn are those some sexy statues.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe NRS is only doing PS4 and Xbox One.

I think people should let NRS and WB know what they think. Maybe we are in the minority, I haven't checked the comments elsewhere, but they should know. Not just about the KE. Overall. MKX altogether is handed really poorly compared to MK9. And I think that will show in sales being mediocre at best. Especially if the ports will suck. And that will lead to MKX truly being the last canon MK game for a while - which I honestly won't mind seeing how MK is treated under WB.

I bought the tournament edition for mk9, but this time around I may just get the gamestop edition. Not really to much on the statues, their cool but just don't have that want like I had for 9.

You can always pre-order whichever special edition you want to be safe from Amazon just in case on top of your other pre-order. Then when news drops on the Kombat Pass, make the call from there based on what suits your needs best.

Would just hate if for some reason the KE you want sells out, and you really wanted every part of it badly enough.

No.
I'll just get the regular PS4 version with Goro as the pre-order bonus, and get the 4 DLC individually.
If I don't like the guest DLC, I'll just get the compatibility pack.

That's the thing. While Scorpion is my 2nd favorite character (after Sub Zero) I just love the detail they put onto Scorpion's statue(obviously I am talking about the realistic one, not cartoon one).

Even so... buy PS4 version just to get statue and some steel card? Wow.
To be honest this Kollector's Edition disappointed me... like a lot. I was really looking forward to it. But like... what?
While I know that these games are from two different genres, but for example if we were to take a look at Witcher's Collector's Edition and what MK gives... just wow. Useless steel card, steel box for CD, only 1 volume of MKX comics (while interesting and all I have that already).

They could have maybe added metal MK Logo medallion at least. Now that would have increased the worth of Kollector's Edition. But now... meh. Just gonna take PC Limited edition and just recently ordered custom MK statue.

I think Lord Greyjoy might be right, I think Goro is one of the 4 Kombat Pack characters.

Guys lets not jump to conclusions.

Retailers probably have not updated their systems yet to include the Bonus Goro DLC when you preorder the Special Editions.

With that said, I am 85% sure Goro is NOT part of the Kombat Pack.

I just hope the individual characters won't be $5 each. I thought even $3 was a lot for MK9.

My guess is the DLC will be Kenshi, Reiko, Baraka and a female. Guest? Could be anyone. But I'm still betting on Scarecrow for the sake of cross-promotion.

I also would like to chime in and say these Special Editions are horrifically underwhelming... Even though I am getting one of them.
