Mortal Kombat X Kollector's Editions Announced!

Welp, time to pre order I guess. PC Steam is out (I haven't read this thread entirely).

All this mascot of the game stuff. Are people really telling me that in a male dominated fan base, if we had a statue with giant boobies (Mileena) or another popular character with sex appeal that wouldn't sell just as well?

Or another way, a different popular character? Or two alternate popular characters? How about a statue of Raiden blasting Kotal Kahn? Kotal has been incredibly well received after all and we all know Raiden is popular.

It's not super important for Scorpion to be the focus all of the time. Maybe a bit here and there so as to put an easily recognizable face out there. The initial promo of the game and the cover, yes. I fail to believe that if Scorpion was not the special edition sales would suffer.

I'm glad too, because if it was 4 more additional characters up front, then I would have to get 1 of the non-regular editions of MKX, just to stay competitive.
I don't see a reason for me to spend an extra $30, otherwise.

I'm guessing that it means more than 1 guest character.
The same goes for Klassic Kombatants.
The plural in both of those makes me think 2 Klassic + 2 guests (across all 4 platforms, PS3, PS4, 360 and X1), since Shaun Himmerick said that they aren't doing console specific guests.
 
I really hope that they don't bring back Freddy. Ed Boon said that Kratos is not coming back in MKX because they don't want to repeat on what they did in MK9.

people on FB are asking if the kollectors edition game and DLC will work on a US ps4..... UM why would it not work? im confused
 
I think the "import" is something like a tongue in cheek nod. I felt the same sort of "would it work?" vibe but after thinking about it, since it's Amazon Exclusive, it makes more sense. I highly, highly doubt it will be in legitimate EU packaging or anything, I just think it's easier to call it an import since it's has the look, content and extras of the EU KE, but only available in the USA from a specific retailer.
 
I don't think it'll be a problem since it's being specifically marketed as an "import" edition to US customers, so I'm sure we're safe.

I know but is it possible that things could have changed? I think two guest characters from the same series or two different series seems a bit much. I like guest fighters but two is pushing it. I want to see other MK characters get a chance on being DLC then just having two MK characters and two guests.

Why did they have to make this so freakin confusing?

Why is the superior edition an Amazon exclusive? Why can't I just go to the store that's ten minutes away and pick it up like I did MK9? I'm supposed to settle on TAS Bat-Scorpion statue if I want to make sure I play the game on the same day as it releases? I know, Amazon ships it so you get the game the day it releases, but I've heard a lot of horror stories about people not getting their games until a week later.

Also, what's the deal with the Kombat Pack? If I get that does it mean I have four extra characters right from the start?

It's a season pass. If you have it, you get the first 4 dlc characters "without paying".

I asked Rigo on Facebook (regarding the Kombat Pack), and this was his reply:



Does The Kombat Pack = 4 (time-released) DLC that we get immediate access to with that version of the game, or is that another way of saying DLC Season Pass?

Meaning that you can also just get the regular MKX version and just individually get the DLC later, if you so desire to do that.
Komabt Pack just = another prettier name for Season pass.
