MKX Video Analyzing/Speculating

Yes, yes it is. Noob says they are BOTH shadows of their former selves. You said it yourself.

If they are both just shadows of what they used to be then wouldn't that imply that they are on a level playing field. Meaning crap has happened to both of them, but they are still there.

It's the same thing. Just because they both aren't human and both aren't using ice doesn't mean anything. Facts are facts.

If anything, at that point Noob should have known how to use his powers WAAAY more effectively than Sub who is newly automated.

Kuai Liang beat Bi-Han. End of story.

NO! Everything you are saying is backwards. I'm done debating this with you because you simply DON'T GET IT. If I lost my right arm and you lost your right leg. We both get mechanical robot limbs and fight. That doesn't make us even. I have a robot arm and you have a robot leg. Completely different.

No different. Only different in your mind.

Lol. I was actually about to use that same comparison, but didn't know if it would offend anyone.

Since you brought it up though, yes that would put us on a level playing field. If you had a metal arm and I had a metal leg we would both have issues. It's the same thing.

Kuai and Bi-Han were on a level playing field and Kuai won. There's not much else I can say...

Yep, that's what I said. See here's the thing while I wouldn't be able to move as fast with my bad leg. You wouldn't be able to control your arm as well.

See how that works?

While not the same type of handicap, it is still a handicap and would in all likeliness level us out. I lose speed, you lose a little control and power.

I am REALLY hoping that they include an ARCADE PERFECT port of Mortal Kombat 4 with this game! that would be sweet!!!!!

The trailer looks absolutely amazing, but theres one thing that concerns me; Sub Zero. Hes human again. Im concerned about whether theyre going to keep the MK9 timeline intact. Nether Realm kinda left MK9 on a cliffhanger with Quan Chi and Shinnok planning something. Was Quai Liang resurrected as a human or something? Guess we'll have to wait and find out.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just read some stuff about how Noob Saibot couldve been purified and returned to the form of Sub Zero. Very interesting.

i think when he snaps the dudes arm backwards and when he snaps the dudes leg backwards they are new versions of the breaker. i might be wrong though Blip!"

I'm in absolute love with the lore that Mortal Kombat is, and I can debate it for days and days without getting tired.

I love speculation and seeing how different people interpret each event.

That said, and it pains me to think this, perhaps this wasn't some story line advancing trailer? Perhaps that wasn't Bi-Han or Kuai Liang? Could it have just been Sub-Zero and Scorpion kicking each other's ass to show off the level of detail they're hoping to achieve in this game?

I don't want to be a party pooper by any means. I'm just saying when you boil this game down Sub-Zero v. Scorpion is probably the most easily recognizable fight to everyone, not just fighting game fans. Then add the level of detail and brutal nature of the trailer just to attract in people.

Like I said I don't want to rain on anyone's parade. I will pick apart a trailer for clues to a Mortal Kombat story with the best of them.

I just know that when I watched it the first 20 times I didn't have thoughts of dissecting a story from this fight. I had thoughts of "I want this game." Which is what I think Boon and Co. were aiming for with this trailer.

Honestly, for me, when it comes to Mortal Kombat, the story is secondary. I just want a solid fighting game that I can sit down, play, enjoy with friends, have fun with people online, and be justified in my $60 purchase. Even though I know the storylines of MK1-4, Sub-Zero is just Sub-Zero to me. Regardless of who's under the mask, they still have the same abilities: They can freeze things.

As for me being a "poser" because I'm a grown ass man who doesn't take the story of a game so seriously, and I'm open to NRS making changes where they see it, that's completely asinine. This is 2014, leave that "poser" crap in the 1980s where it belongs and join us here in the modern age.

Honestly, Mortal Kombat does not take itself very seriously, but Tarkatan Trash calling these changes blasphemous and insulting members here for "tolerating" them just shows a lack of maturity and comes off extremely egotistical... About a video game.

I grew up with MK, played it for the first time 20 years ago. It has a special place in my heart, but that doesn't mean I can't accept that NRS wants to go a new direction with the games. The old ones still exist, and the old stories are still there for us to enjoy. If you pop in your SNES/Sega cartridges of the games, the original stories will still be there.

As I've said before, the beauty of art (video games included) is that it all has different meanings and values in the eye of the beholder. Just because someone doesn't share your same opinion and is open to different interpretations does not make us "posers," it makes us open-minded and free-thinking.

As for the trailer, I think the only thing it confirms is the looks of Scorpion and Sub-Zero, stage interactions from Injustice being incorporated, and X-rays making a return. Anything beyond that seems like grasping for straws to me. And honestly, I really don't care for any of the post MK3 characters outside of Kenshi and maybe Ashrah, who I thought had a cool backstory. The rest just seem really convoluted to me, so I'm hoping we get some new characters. I can do without the fillers like Taven, Havok, Frost, Reiko, etc.

Totally agreed.
I can't get my head around why anyone would be so upset about whether the Sub Zero they're playing is Kuai Liang or Bi-Han or whether people who died in the backstory are alive again.

I kinda agree with everything you said except not liking Reiko. His MK4 ending was one of the things that I liked the most in all of MK since MK2.
If he stopped being a Kano clone, he could make for a really interesting character.
That said, I do not care for any character that appeared in the "consoles-only" era of MK (read, Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon).
I cringe at the possibility of Bo'rai-Cho being in any future MK (I'm a spanish speaker, so imagine having a character called "Dr'nk-ard" in MK).

yah no o raicho, no stryler, no meat, no mokap, no darrius ...justy no shit s....and yes uKER who cares who is sub...god it could be a random hotshot at the linkue taking the mantle for all i care

Everyone should just be happy human Sub is back. Bottom line that's the one thing all his fans wanted and now they've got it. Being a Reptile fan I sympathize with having your character changed too much. Game play is where it's at and in that sense Sub-Zero fans have got back what they thought they might loose.

I agree with Axe. Bi-Han having another canon appearance as Sub-Zero would be a treat, not a necessity IMO. Whether Sub-Zero is human or not is a bigger deal.
