MKX Story Trailer (CST 8:00 02/27)

Well tomorrow should be a good day for me since I get to pick up my copy of Dragon Ball Xenoverse tomorrow and we are getting a MKX story mode trailer tomorrow.

Expect something like this

Gonna be so hype :)

That's exactly what my large-ass post about the bad guy reveal was about. See, in Injustice it's completely, totally, unmistakeably obvious from 20 minutes into the game who the bad guy is going to be. But they STILL made the story trailer ambiguous, and a month before the game's release people were still just speculating about the boss. This just goes to show how much sense it makes to keep the story under wraps.

So what character could possibly be even more obviously final bossy than Superman was in Injustice, that they'd have no choice but to make it clear in the story trailer that he's the main bad guy of MKX? And what does that in itself tell us about the story?

My theories are Johnny or Liu. No basis to say that though, except that Boon said it'd be a good guy. That said, they'd still be able to keep it ambiguous until the actual release, since this game seems to encircle a conflict with multiple "villains". Exciting.

Where did Boon said it would be a good guy? I only heard him saying it would a surprise returning character that a not lot of people would see it coming.

When did Boon say it was a good guy? I must have missed it.

That may be just hype from Ed, as in "oh, not many people would think that Liu Kang would turn out to be the big bad". I'm hoping that it will be truly a surprise, though.

Nevertheless, Liu would fit the bill. Think about it: in MKII, that guy in flames was just Liu Kang's model burning. It inspired Blaze, which turned out to be Armageddon's big bad in flames. Now, on the new timeline we have the possibility of Liu Kang being a sort of fire god who's really, really mad. Anyone following my crazy logic for a theory? Made it up in a few seconds, but maybe I'm not totally off. I don't see fire god Liu Kang being playable, at least not as a "normal" kombatant.

I still have to go with Daegon being the main Villain, although now I believe it could also be Reiko/Mileena (sometime around the 25 year mark) or even a behind-the-scenes Tanya (would explain why her presence in MKX has been quite).

Havik would make a fun and surprising boss.

And I can buy him as someone who has manipulated people to get what he wants. If the story does cover Armageddon (which I think is possible), I think he could become a big player.

Wasn't there murmurings that Onaga would play into the game, or at least trying to keep him from being revived. I push forward the thought Havik is the one trying to revive him, only to kill him to get his heart like he set out to do in MK:D.

Even if they show who the Final Boss is, I don't care.
It doesn't spoil anything for me.
I'd still have to find out HOW that character becomes the final boss and the events in between that lead to that, which I don't think they'll show.
I'm curious to know what other characters are in, and hopefully Erron Black and some of the other new guys are in.

Hopefully there will be a YouTube video of this, as I won't be able to catch it at 9AM (my time zone).

My gut is telling me that we are going to get more then 6 characters revealed in the next trailer, seen they haven't showed any "brand new" characters since release, I think they need to because people need to know what they're going to get their hands on with when the game is released (very soon)
No way in hell are they going to keep all the "new" characters away from us untill we get hands on ourselves!

Also I do hope that the trailer is going to be longer then a 2:00 minutes trailer with 20 seconds intro and 20 seconds outro, I mean there's still so many questions.

Edit; 8 AM is in the morning, so what? like 7 hours left untill the trailer?!

Timezones, man. Timezones.

3 hours.

2,5hrs left. I wonder if I should watch it or not. How much will it spoil?

It will apparently give away the final boss. But the Injustice story trailer gave away VERY little (not even the final boss).

Unless you're planning on leaving the forum, though, not watching won't really help because everyone will be talking about it without spoilers within 2 days.

I'm ok with more characters revealed, but I don't want to know the final boss until I play the game. Will they just tease him or show him? And how many years the trailer will cover?

I think I'll wait until someone tells me how much it shows.

I know the trailer won't show much since it'll probably be 2mins and the story mode is probably 2hrs, but it all depends on the editing.

I hope for this trailer we'll use spoilers tags if there are any. Story stuff is story stuff.
