MKT - Salty Wounds NOV/11 (Sign up/Suggestions)

Count me in

xblgt; n9195v

I think we should do the no blood code because its quicker and kills lag. Fatalities are a waste of time.

I want to use Jax and Night Wolf this time around.

best out of 5 random select tourney any one ?! =P

The rules for character selection will be slightly different this time. Now the whole roster is open, however, if you pick a character you have to keep them until you lose a game, then you can change. So you could pick Nightwolf, and keep winning, but if someone takes one game off you, you can change, only now THEY have to keep the person they won with. It's how it is done in the Pro Tournies.

And nice to have you back on board mate. I'll put your suggestion in as well (check my first post in the first page).

EDIT: anything in the suggestion post in bold is stuff that will be in, anything in italics is a suggestion that can be agreed or tossed aside, nearer the tournie.

Suggestion! :D

Ban the City Stage along with other stages with small distraction like the cars flying by.

Street should be banned yeah.

Anyone up for doing some Koth later? I want to practice with Quan Cheez and Baraka.

I'll prolly be on. I need to get this account thing sorted out with the Mods first, apparantly something is not right with that other account.

Okay, I don't think the MKTournaments account is coming back, however stranger things have happened!

My two partners in crime for this tournament are GUTZnG0RE and SAIX.

So if you guys have any questions, you can direct them at them as well.

What i'll do nearer the time of making the official "Salty Wounds" tournie thread, is when I reserve the first three posts for W Bracket, L Bracket and Videos, i'll get GUTZ and SAIX to do the same. We can all carbon copy each other, and update the tournament that way, if need be, or what can be done, is one of us updates the W Bracket, one of us updates the L Bracket and the other updates the Video section.

We could also all download the Tio Tournie Organiser, and if one of us updates the brackets, they could PM or email the "file" to one of us, and that can be uploaded straight away. OR if I provide a link for the Challonge Double Elimination table, I can let them use my password and they can also update the brackets that way, without needing me to do it in my own post.

Where there is a will, there is a way............

Is it against to rules to just let you guys use my account if you guys are afraid to share information. Or will the fact that you log into flagg and log into Critical limit get me banned cuz it's coming from the same IP.

just curious.

From what i've learned this evening, I think that would be bannable offence as well. I don't know how IP addresses work, but if me and you started using one of our accounts, it would essentially register that two accounts were being used from one comp. One comp, means one IP, which infers, one person has made a duplicate account. Even though this isn't the case, that is what would be implied.

The BIGGEST reason that 1 account was going to be shared by three guys, was if you look at the first Tournie, Post 1 was reserved for the Rules and W Bracket, Post 2 was reserved for the L Bracket, and Post 3 was reserved for the Video section. One account meant all three of us could update each section. Of course, it would be possible to delegate one of us to each section, just sharing one account would have made things a million times hassle free.

I'm not looking for sympathy, but updating those first three posts on a daily basis was pretty time consuming! Don't get me wrong, I loved running and hosting the tournie, but there was a lot of work behind the scenes :P LOL!

I know dude, and being a TO is a huge responsibility.

you deserve kudos for your efforts no joke.

Atleast you don't have to clean up a offline tournament mess. Food everywhere, clean up tables with little to no help. handle and organize money. millions of people walking up to you asking questions.

So trust me I know your pain. and the work you put in.

So good job manning up and doing something like this flagg. People complain to me all the time there is no scene in their area. I KNOW FOR A FACT. there has got to be atleast 20+more people in any given town that is playing the same game. they just have no way/ no understanding of tournament scene. And you gotta put in the work to get it.

same principal applies to offline tournament. you gotta put in the work, to get it to run correctly.

and your doing a fine job so far flagg.

It's like finding a lover, you can't sit around and wait for it to happen.

You gotta go find it.

You can't sit around and wait for a scene in your area...

you gotta go find it/build on it.

Thanks Critical, glad you know what i'm talking about and your words mean a lot. If I looked hard enough, I probably could find a decent offline scene, even near to me. I do have a few other things in my life at the moment that I also need to focus on, but I thought "hell, why not bring the 'scene' to TRMK". I was half expecting no one to sign up, but they did, and we all had a blast. And yeah, I dont envy not clearing up take away boxes, pepsi cans and upturned chairs!

And like I said, yeah it was time consuming but a part of me really enjoyed this. I would have probably have done this second one alone, if push came to shove. However I do have a busy month next month, and a coupla guys were really keen to help, so I thought sure why not. And really, SAIX and GUTZ have some really, really awesome and ambitious ideas, not just for this one, but future ones.

EDIT: I just thought, perhaps MKTournaments could kinda be a "universal" account, that could be used by everyone here. That means, anyone in the PS3 gang could use it to do something similiar to what is being done here. Of course, the Mods would have to veto the person or persons who want to use it, make sure they're responsible members, etc, so then its not like the rules have been bent for just one person.

I would love if everyone got Skype and could skype talk while we play. It would bring the offline feel to me. Playing online in silence doesn't have that offline tournament hype feel. I dunno this is me being greedy though. as I'm probably the only person who cares about these things lol.

Well I play with a few of the guys here in KoH like GUTZ, Saix, Vital, fr stack, Budd, Exemery, n9195v, Zoid...we've all got mics so usually have a natter.

I do like my idea of making the MKTournaments account, semi universal for anyone to use, should they prove to be responsible, and as long as it is for the purpose of making a MK tournament. It could be used by PS3 players, people playing MKA....the Mods could veto who uses it, so the person or persons using it, are deemed responsible. Just a thought.

Okay, I'm in. However, I might have to go to an event sometime around the 11th. So,I'll withdraw in advance if there are any problems.

Hate to break it to you Vital but im bringing Quan Chi and his rune traps, gotta represent those rage inducing characters!

P.S.: Toad you should join just to troll Vital, would be epic XD

I decided Im gonna skip this one and probably the net til my Sonya is perfect, and I need to decide whether I should bother using Kitana as a close second or Kung Lao......

I say we have a zero tolerance rule meaning that if the winner changes their character (against the rules) and you play the match it counts. you can not say he cheated after the fact, you would have to leave the game when he changed his character.

also I think we could benefit from having lagging out rules.

- If you lag out and one of you had a won a round what happens to that round?
- if the person your fight lags out to the point were you don't think you can play a single game what happens?

Also I say if there is any dispute over who won that we should set up a KOTH to know for sure.
