MKT - Salty Wounds NOV/11 (Sign up/Suggestions)

See this is what im talking about. The weekend before that, is not viable for me, and the weekend after the other one isn't good, and it would suck to arrange the tournie around me. "If" it was over two weekends, and a week, it gives other people some breathing space.

Dont get me wrong guys, I want this done in a timely fashion, but asking for one day is asking a lot of the contestants.

I know im butting heads with some of you on this, and I dont want to, I just want to come to a compromise and a happy medium that suits everyone.

But let's not go backwards and forwards over that now. The tournie wont be for about 3 weeks yet at least, so it's better we get a number, then we can talk dates.
 
Fridays and Saturdays usually do not work for me. I am of high demand.

But the only suggestion I can think of is the fighting schedules. I think that YOU MUST SELECT A DATE GOOD FOR BOTH PLAYERS. Screw the 'I might be busy' bull. Pick one day. Play that day. If one does not show for the date, DQ them or send them to another bracket or whatever. Get it done, fast and orderly.

Whoever is running it, (flagg I assume)

Needs an attitude like that. You might make some enemies, but your tournament will be a better success if things are run smoothly. If you have To DQ, you DQ.

However... finals is another thing... I know it's unfair but sometimes finals need a little more leniency. how unhype would that be if loser's finals one guy was DQ'd.

Before Finals, DQ with no mercy. After Finals, give just a little bit of leg room but still have the fear of DQ in their face so they are more willing to make it on time.

IF you are too laid back in Dq'ing people. I've seen it happen online many times. I KNOW FOR A FACT. that some people who can play their match... but just don't feel like MK today. Will not show up thinking "Oh i'll just try it another day when I feel like it"
 
Two ppl were DQ'd in the last one.

I agree, deadlines need to be stricter but I've got two other people helping me run this one.

Hmm, it might be an idea to find out what kind of times are good for people.

Like I said, i have a semi busy month in November. The 5th and 6th and the 19th and 20th are going to be a no good as far as MK goes. Both are weekends, one is a Stag Night and the other is for a Wedding.

That said, I don't want this to simply fit around me.

Maybe doing the whole thing over one weekend isn't a bad idea. Or how about this:

The Tournament could run from the 7th -13th of November. That's one week. This will enable people that cant play at the weekend, time to play during the week. Like Critical suggested, for the first rounds, a date is set, and it is kept. If the other person pisses around, then they are gone. And what further Critical suggested, quarter, semi and finals should get a bit more leeway, as by that stage there is less people, and people might need a day to get ready, etc.
 
Oh for Gods sake, why was the MKTournaments account banned?!

It was simply made so three of us could run this thing from one account.

EDIT: Now we cant even edit the stuff in the first three posts...

EDIT II: okay, refer to the first post I made in the first page for the time being as i'll be updating who is signing up and what kind of rules will be implimented.

Duplicate accounts aren't allowed, states that in the forum rules.

Not saying I necessarily agree with it but ehhh, rules are rules.
 
Well rules are rules, but there was nothing insidious about it. Simply for the purpose of making this next tournie run smoother. Would be nice if on this one occasion, we'd be allowed this one thing. Most of what I think of as the "non nether realm clique" pretty much keep ourselves to ourselves, we help out in the MK 9 section and we're all pretty, mature and trust worthy guys.
 
I agree, but I can understand why they ban multiple accounts. Ive seen it on other forums where a duplicate account will cause a huge flamewar.
 
I know why it's banned. Is because trolls make duplicate accounts, usually to flame or to gather information about someone they dislike.

I'm in the process of getting it sorted out with one of the Mods. I'm pleading our case, that yeah, I'd like some help this time, I mean the two other guys have had some great input.

I'd even be happy for the Mods to have access to the account themselves, if it gives them piece of mind.

None of us want to rock the boat. We just want to improve the MK 9 and TRMK community. Nothing to hide.

It'd be a shame because I think the last Tournament went really well.

I think we should do the no blood code because its quicker and kills lag. Fatalities are a waste of time.

I want to use Jax and Night Wolf this time around.
