I'm the one who reported it and I will confirm: it is a trailer for Mortal Kombat (2011) in high-definition. The press release worded it funny, but that is standard home entertainment lingo. If it was for the supposed MK Kollection, it would've said "Kollection" somewhere in there.

You are not a moderator so please stop acting like one. This is not the first time you have made a comment like this.
If you see something in the incorrect section, or something that simply needs a merge, let a mod know about it. We don't need backseat mods. We are busy checking as many threads as we can so it would help if you directed us to some we may have missed by shooting us a PM or using the report button.

Thanks for the clarification, but I guarantee their wording was completely intentional. They have to know how much buzz the Kollection is generating. I'd have done the same thing.

Guys, don't you yall remeber? MK9 is going to be kalled, "Mortal Kombat". They are going to have a trailer about Mortal Kombat 9 but which is really kalled Mortal Kombat. Not that HD remix rumor stuff.

I don't understand the relation, apart from those games also being HD updates. They're not from Warner either.
Anyway, I do still believe there's a chance of MKHD being released around that time. As I've said before, I think it was always planned for release a month before MK9; the original November date could've been made when MK9 was still supposed to be released at the end of 2010. In which case, MK9's postponement would impact on MKHD. The retailers may have been left uninformed, or simply took a while to update their listings.
I'm assuming that WB wants to hit everyone with everything MK related around the time of MK9's grand release. Possibly the MK Rebirth web series, the MK movie Blu-rays, and to top it off...MKHD. Among other things, potentially. All helping to promote MK9. Wishful thinking? Probably. But time will tell. And if that is indeed the scenario, an official announcement could be coming soon.

The thing that still surprises me is, assuming the game is finished, or has been finished as you predict, how could there be absolutely no leaked screens or anything for this game? The closest thing to a "leak" we have is the supposed boxart and, I guess to a lesser extent, the fact that we know the game exists at all. Honestly, you'd think we'd have seen something like a photo of one of the new actors dressed in full MK costume or a glimpse of a new arena.
I must say, while WB hasn't done a great job keeping this game a secret (though, perhaps, that was never the plan), they have done well protecting against visual leaks.

MK HD could very well hit the playstation store before its released in stores, but if these games take up a whole blu ray disc im not rushing to load up my PS3 HDD for it,i'll wait until hits stores.....the 3-22-2011 release dates are most likely for ubisofts games and not MK HD..good find though

Of course I'm aware of those other leaks (I think I may have reported on most of them, lol), but I was talking about visual leaks. Usually, if a game is this far along, someone snaps a quick picture and it eventually finds its way onto the web. There was a couple pictures a while back of Anthony Marquez's son wearing the Kung Lao costume that some people thought was from filming the HD Kollection. He shot down those rumors, though it wouldn't surprise me at all if he did end up being the guy portraying Kung Lao in these games. Also, there was the fake Palace Gates picture as well, but again, it ended up being fan art and not from the game itself.
Honestly, I think when WB gives the green light to start talking about the HD Kollection, someone (Ed & Hans, I'm looking at you!) will "leak" a picture or two to build hype once again. Then, shortly after that, the game will be released. That form of marketing seems crazy, but MK fans absolutely eat it up! ;-)

Two interesting things to note on this page. First, it lists a release date of June 15, 2011. But, on the game description, it also says, "A complete package with original Mortal Kombat on March 1." Now the March 1 date is intriguing because a.) it's close to several other rumored dates here in the US and b.) it's actually a Tuesday, the day games are released in the US. Obviously, Netherlands listings don't mean a lot for US customers, but the fact some dates are becoming more and more similar seems like a good sign.
