King Of The Hill Discussion Thread

KOTH Spectator controls?

I'm going to sound really dumb here, but how might one perform spectator actions in King of the Hill mode other than the default four? In the trailer I saw tomatoes and cheese and even a skunk, but I have no idea on how to do them. Do they need to be unlocked?

This isn't exactly gonna be a public room, though. I gotta play with some of you first, and you have to be active on TRMK as well as pretty damn good on MK. We have some really good dudes that play in this room, we don't want anyone accusing people of spamming, or starting beef because you got beat one way or another. Our group online is drama free right now so to speak, we're not looking to change that.

Sounds interesting. I get a lot of ragequitters every time I get near a double flawless, would be fun to fight some people could offer up an actual fight.

Re: For those of you who score 0.0 immediatly after your defeat this is for you.

New record I believe...Unless someone can top this: 11 win streak last night with a grand total of 3 points. The 3 points came from some poor kid who joined and a gave me a 1 for three games until I played him and he quit in the middle of the second round.
--It wasn't even the same people either. People were leaving and joining and all giving me Big Fat Zero's. Its just a general consensus now that giving people zero's is the cool thing to do. I used 6 different characters: Reptile, Liu Kang, Sub-zero, CSZ, Quan Chi, and Kano.
Another Day like this and its gonna be a while before I get the achievement.
 
how do you rate koth matches?

what motivates you to give a high or low score. for me its entertainment. a good fight i tend to give a higher score.

basically a onesided fight where someone gets stomped all over isnt very entertaining for me, 5 or below.

a good fight all around but one player goes 2-0 on the match i give between a 6-8 depending on how good i thought it was.

a good fight where it gets tense because they each won a round usually makes me quite happy, 8-9 easy.

i reserve 10's for something impressive like big comebacks or just particularly awesome fighting.

and premature dc's always prompt a 0 from me.

For me it can come from either a really good fight but i wish you could give the loser points too coz they're as important to the quality of a good close fight as the winner. If a guy completely dominates with good skill then they'll also get a high rating. If a guy rage quits i'll give the winner a ten coz everyone always gives them zero's when they've done nothing wrong!

ya i guess i dont look at it as scoring the winner, i look at it as scoring the match. if someone dc's there isnt a proper match so no points, but if someone beats me i always give them a 10, even if they did it by so called "cheap" means because hey, there are ways around it, and i didnt manage.

i give 10's a lot btw, trying to get better but having trouble

id join, im a good loser, but im not that good of a player so yous guys would probably wipe the floor with me. atm i just use noob and csz.

Yeah if someone beats me they'll get a ten straight out as a sign of respect, i'm always really nice with my scoring, i'll start at ten but reduce the score depending on cheapness and if on the run up they've been giving everyone else zero's. For me it depends, if a guy quits coz he's being torn a new one then i'll give the winner an 8 or a 9

I give every fight a ten. The scores mean nothing to me and it makes people happy.
