Jason and Michael Mysers deconfirmed by Boon? (Hopefully)

ever thought that since WB owns rights to freddy they may have perhaps pressured to boon in the first place to do something like freddy so they could make more money on a much more universially known character than any MK charcater to be released as dlc.

I'm pretty sure as you said that WB didn't give Boon a choice,Boon was forced.

The reason? They don't alter the gameplay at all. I had a huge problem with MK vs. DC because they altered the entire game to get a T rating to accommodate the DC characters, but Freddy alters nothing. As far as I'm concerned, they can continue adding well thought out guest characters, because to me that is preferable to adding idiotic MK characters like Kobra or Darrius. If Freddy wasn't an established character and was a brand new fighter created by NRS, you guys would love him. So what's the difference?

You also have to realize that MK isn't selling out. It can't, because MK was a sellout from day one. Johnny Cage was modeled after Jean Claude Van Damme and the first MK was going to try to be a movie tie-in game, so selling out is part of MK's core. Just look at all the crappy merchandise, NRS will license out the MK name to anybody who can make them a buck.

Who cares, it's capitalism. As long as they offer a little fan service in there too to keep the real fans happy, I don't care what else they add. Enjoy MK9. It's a total fan service game. It had to be in order to get the franchise rolling again. Now that it is, you can expect to see selling out and cut corners at every turn. Then it will become too much, everybody will abandon the franchise, it will take another break, and "return to its roots" with another reboot.

Rinse. Repeat.

You make good points in this post but what I don't like is you assume if the 4th DLC wasnt Freddy that NRS would've added idiotic characters like Kobra and Darrius? Its as if your trying to make it seem like if the 4th character was a MK character that it wouldve been some dumb character nobody likes nor asked for. Which is entirly untrue. There were plenty of great known characters that rightfully deserved to be over Freddy. What also bothers me is if people start liking Freddy they'll just start asking for Michael Myers, Pinhead, Leatherface, Jason etc. Which would take the guest character thing to a whole other level of ridiculousness and MK10 the sequel we really want will end up being MK vs. Horror Icons.....
 
I just realesed I came to accept Freddy but I dont want Jason, maybe other characters but I cant see Jason doing combos, dashing, juggling and doing x-rays.

AGREED 100%, not only is Freddy taking a slot that a "dumb" character could have had, he is taking a slot a GOOD character could have had. kind of a let down knowing that Boon was most likely sitting in his office thinking "man, people are begging for Reiko, begging for Tremor, Begging for Tanya, Begging for Fujin... I know I'll do.... Freddy Krueger. he is far more important than these other MK characters"

I won't lie I am sure I will cave and get freddy out of curiosity. Of course I'll probaby get him, hate his gameplay and be MORE disappointed lol. Of course if a notice was attached saying "if this DLC makes X amount of money, more DLC will be made" yea I wouldn't think twice about buying him.

Yeah, If they do add another guest though, I think it shouldn't be a horror character. They had their fun with Freddy, now if they must have another guest, have a different style. And ESPECIALLY not Jason.

Yes, Sci-Fi/Superheroe movies would be cool, I dont like the horror genre, I saw lots of that movies and I never saw a good one... Though I only saw the remake of Freddy Krueger wich IMO is dumb and lame, dont know about the old ones, still I never liked the character of Freddy Krueger.

already did superheros and it ****ing failed

and from what it seems, some of your hate for freddy comes from the fact you have no idea about him, or any horror characters at all.

I think they fit more than Superheros, the slasher genre's gimick such as Friday the 13'th and Nightmare on Elm Street has always been about Gore and creative Villains. And the same exact thing applied for Mortal Kombat back when it was new. Extreme gore, and its creative characters.

Like I said, I have an idea of horror characters, because I saw lots of that movies, but I dont like them, though I only saw 1 of Freddy Krueger, the remake and was dumb as hell. My hate for Freddy comes that IMO he is lame.

And there is no guests that fit more than other, none of them fit entirely, because they are not from MK, and I find Venom or Wolverine more interesting than Freddy Krueger but they dont fit less or more than him IMO.

So at this point I dont care if they are gory or bloddy I just want them to be cool, and Freddy is not cool to me.
