I don't know if you guys heard, but this commercial is getting a lot of love, and hate.

Some call it extremely offensive, assuming all Jamaicans are happy.

I find this very silly, but what do you guys think?

The commercial blatantly plays on stereotypes, no questions. However, one has a choice as to whether or not to be offended.

Kind of patronizing, but at same time something that can't be taken seriously.

Eh... if you get offended. I mean you feel the way you feel.

but I'm gonna have an opinion about you that you're weaksauce if you're offended by that.

They can make fun of asian stereotypes anytime in a commercial and I'll always laugh. Some people need to get over it when it's meant to be a joke.

If you don't find it funny, ignore it/tolerate it.

You should be able to tell when someone is TRYING to offend you. and this commercial clearly isn't.

I think Bob Marley was reborn in a white man's body. Come back to us Bobby!

I didn't find it offensive at all. I thought it was funny.

Don't be a cloud on a sunny day. Turn that frown the other way around!

You know what this forum needs? A smile. :)

That is a shockingly brilliant commercial. No surprise it's from the mad-men of the VAG (Volkswagen A.G.) advertising department. You think that's good? Feast your eyes.

The only thing about the 2013 Superbowl commercial that offends me is the car. The New Beetle /current gen Beetle is the worst car VW makes. It'll be better when it's made on the MQB platform (starting 2015 models onward for the NA market), but it's still their most hateful car, in a lineup of otherwise great cars (driven by awful drivers).

Edit: No, seriously. Have you ever seen a Jetta use its signal? No, neither have I. That's offensive.
