so i was going through all the gameplay video footage so far and every video the gameplay seems very fast. to me its a little too fast and the reason i find this a problem is because when a fighting game is too fast it becomes hard to tell whats going on which then makes it harder to get invested in the action which is overall a less satisfying experience. i have the same problem with marvel vs capcom and killer instinct those games are just so fast its just messy.
To Me MK9 had a much better pace and the best pace of any fighting game ive played. it was so good that i enjoyed even just watching other people play it. but when im watching this new footage of MK10 im not getting that same satisfaction because the characters just seem to be darting around like crazy like theyre on speed and when they are doing moves and combos its so fast you cant make out what theyre doing so none of the hits feel satisfying to watch. when i watch the gameplay footage the most part im thinking 'what was that?' 'what just happend there?' rather than thinking 'wow that looked cool'
i then went back and watched the first trailer footage of subz vs scorpion in the forest and noticed the fighting looked great and speed/pace wise it felt like watching MK 9 but with better graphics. we know it wasnt 100% gameplay footage but it was close enough visually. the reason i liked this trailer much better than the rest of the actual gameplay footage is because you could see everything happening and make out whats going on and with each hit you could feel the power which was very satisfying so i was hyped for the game. but watching the new footage of actual gameplay is a very unsatisfying experience for me coz i cant tell wtf is going on its too fast which to me is just messy and if a games unsatisfying to watch chances are its unsatisfying to play.
im probably in the minority here and i was actually one of the people that said the game should be a little faster this time round but i take all that back now and realise how good the pacing of MK9 really was.
i dont think the game needs to be faster just adding the run would of been enough.
