Injustice Discussion Thread

This is only their 2nd fighting game under WB, they still have a lot to prove, I'm pretty sure that if Injustice matches the success of MK9, they'll be given more freedom to work on other genres, but don't forget that the people at WB want $$$, they have Rocksteady and Grasshopper develop platformers for them already, what other studio can make them a fighting game?
 
Could you imagine Rockstedy doing for mk what they did for Batman in the arkham games. I think if given the entire history of the Mk universe not only would they do it justice, but they would probably follow the lore so closely the only why you'd know it wasn't an NRS title was the dev credits.

Yeah, it'd be nice, but it'd probably be a platformer and not a fighting game.
 
I know. I wouldn't want any other dev-Team doing an MK fighting game. I'd love to see what kind of adventure they would piece together and out of the entire M-Kast who they'd choose to be it's main focus.

I would've totally believed that, coming from him, if we hadn't been told before that we wouldn't see babalities because the new MK was going to take a more serious, violent approach. All we can do now is wait and see.

Boon: I think in every Mortal Kombat game we put a touch of silliness in it, because we’re not taking it seriously. When we say, ‘Kung Lao cuts your head off and then cuts you in half and then you split like this,’ we’re not like [mock serious tone] ‘Good job.’ It’s just so ridiculous that you would do that to somebody, that for us we need to remind everybody that we’re not being very serious. So we’ll have the ‘Toasty’ guy or have someone turn into a baby, but we’re not going to go crazy with that. We’re not going to do animalities or friendships or the over the top humorous stuff, but we are going to have funny elements.
 
I say the opposite.

I want other teams doing MK fighting games and have NRS do the story driven spin off. I don't want anybody but Vogel touching the story. Plus NRS has some really meh decisions when it comes to fighting games. See the clash system and Cyber 0's bombs.
 
The whole ''Clash'' system is still confusing. How much input do players like 16-Bit have anyway? If you want people to take your fighting game seriously, luck shouldn't be a factor too often. I know some of you didn't like the breaker system in MK9, how about the one in MKVSDC? 2 breakers per match, simple yet effective.
 
Nah, you prettyalready much get 2 breakers a match in MK9. I like the way MK9 handled it. Meter management plays a huge role.

I'm wondering about this "clash" system too. Like what happends when no one places a bet or bets the same amount? I know it will be explained more later, I just don't get it now.... :|

From the looks of it, you both slide away I think. I would assume half damage is taken.

(That must be the oldest interview ever, but hey) With interviews like this (at about 9:30), I had assumed they were simply denying any ''funny'' factors like Babalities. But to be fair, I didn't follow MK2011 interviews as intently in the beginning as I did near launch and as I am doing now with Injustice. So, thanks for the reply.

@AMES32 Yeah, I mean it actually is really good that they're trying to push their desings forward as the MAIN ones, because that's how you make your mark. But with alternates pretty much confirmed, I wonder if that means we'll see alternate costumes like in MK2011, a second NRS design for each character, or if we'll actually see more ''classic'' versions.
 
If only Hori could make the official fightsticks and fightpads for Injustice., no PDP please.

What do you guys think will be given as a pre-order bonus? A Nightwing statue for AMES? A comic book?
 
I'm probably stupid for hoping this,
But If theres a Pre-Order bonus, (Which, in fact, I WILL be Pre-Ordering,) I hope its a collection of TAS costumes for a few people like WW, superman, Harley Quinn, etc.
 
Some Batman fighting game fan idea

Whatever is the case Ed Boon is listed in Arkham City credits so I assume that the 2 teams do have some cooperation. The Grundy from Injustice even looks just like the one in AC. Still I'd love if Netherrealm and Rocksteady worked together to develop Injustice or some other DC fighting game. Arkham's freeflow is stunning and with some tweaks it could help Injustice seem more different from MK gameplay but still fit competitive fighter.

Boon also said Injustice will have new modes, I for one wish for Final Fight-style sidescrolling beat' em up, with 2 player local co-op!
