Hey... uh.. you all. What's your thoughts on THIS one?

I don't understand NRS but i totally respect them. What is wrong with the original characters like Havik, Drahmin, Mavado, Reiko, Baraka etc.. I can't understand, they always try to make generic ones like Kotal Kahn (He is cool but i accept he looks like too Ogre), Cassie (Of course generic), Jacqui etc. Did you see a character like Drahmin anywere? I don't think so.. Play as Cassie Cage and Johnny Cage will give us same feeling, both have same story, almost same moves.. I like Johnny but i am not sure he or his daughter is really neccassary. About the ninjas in mk history, if we talk about MK9 only their looks like each other a bit. They all different. From their stories till their movesets.

I made a claim that someone doesn't understand FGC clones an the only other clone they could mean are genetic so I said I don't think you know what either mean. It was a coverage basis.

The fact that everyone ignored the FGC part of that post baffles me.

Anyways who cares half of you guys are talking about aesthetically similar please say that. A long time competitor like myself will keep reading what you're typing as incorrect.

Once again Ganondorf and Captain falcon are clones, but thy have no aesthetic similarities which proves the "must look similar theory" false.

Well back on topic, I believe Frost was always a clone of Sub-Zero regarding her fighting style, all the more reason for NRS to revamp her into an unique character.Every character has potential if used right.

Nobody ever liked Stryker before MK9 for example.
 
its just a classic case of people thinking that the old characters would be copied and pasted from the old games into MKX EXACTLY as they were without changing a thing. do some people honestly think they would put frost in the new game with the exact same move set as sub zero :/ smh
 
I'm getting the impression that no matter what, people just don't want Frost in at all unless she's a pink unicorn that fights with rainbows or something so drastically different from Sub Zero that her own name wouldn't make any sense.

Her name is Frost. She will have powers over ice like Sub Zero has power over ice. No, that doesn't mean they're interchangable. Not even a little bit. She could even have a blue ninja uniform. There'd be nothing wrong with that either. That doesn't make her a clone. If it did, then Shang Tsung and Liu Kang both should never have fireballs along with 90% of the other roster members having projectile moves.

Cassie uses guns. Erron Black will use guns. OMFG! Cassie is a clone of Erron Black!!!!!
 
What if they go the descendant route with Scorpion and Subzero?

What if Takeda replaces Hanzo and Frost replaces Bi Han (by actually assuming the name, Subzero)

At this point, I would like Frost to be in. Sub-Zero as Grandmaster, you know, all that BS again :laugh: (I liked!)

And her inclusion would freak many "leaks" too.

Besides the fact she could have a cooler moveset (no pun intended).

The only thing that would bother me (since her outfit and herself look way cooler) is the fact that, trying to avoid her looking too much like Sub-Zero, they put dumb moves (like Ground Freeze. It's cool and useful on Sub-Zero, but her freezing the ground when could use it as a projectile...).

I wouldn't mind her freezing like Sub-Zero and having all other powers different (moveset obviously different, won't even comment). But we have Frost fans who commented on nice ideas of abilities for her. I think it's possible to make her with a good development.

Even with a clothing like Sub-Zero's, I'm liking her this way. Way better than that costume of hers (the original).
 
Takeda is also seen wearing a classic Scorpion-like ninja suit and no one is really complaining. Why can't Frost do the same with Sub Zero?

Mostly because Takeda's outfit isn't exactly like Scorpion's, he doesn't have the V-vest but rather, a singular sash that wraps around his shoulder.

You're on a message board. That requires reading. Sometimes a lot of it. Also, you're supposedly 30 years-old. Don't admit to not being able to read a few paragraphs without losing interest.

I'd rather read Critical Limit's posts than something like "i like scorpion cuz hes bada$$. but i hate rain cause he's purple and does nothng useful. respect my opinion or f@*king burn in hell"

I can't speak for anyone else, but this is indeed why I don't want Frost in the game. The only interesting thing about her - her abilities - is something that some other highly beloved character does way better. She does not have an interesting personality (in the original timeline and in the comics she's portrayed as a complete tool), she does not have unique powers (unlike for example Tremor), she's a ninja in the original timeline (we're trying to move away from those) and an MMA fighter in the new timeline (doesn't interest me), she's a female fighter (I personally don't tend to like those). I see absolutely nothing worth attempting to salvage. If you come up with cool ice moves, just give them to Sub-Zero instead.

1. We don't know Erron's moveset yet. We don't know what other skills he has apart from guns.
2. Cassie is a field agent for a military organization. Erron Black is a cowboy mercenary.
3. The only guns Cassie uses are pistols.

I might be wrong, but I've only seen a single special move that uses the gun. In the others, it's a part of her fatality or x-ray. Would you be OK with Frost only having a single special move that uses ice powers? Lol.

Agreed about the 'clones' but as you said aesthetically, it is disappointing to me.

Usually, in response, someone will bring up the amount of ninjas in the game. The thing is those characters have gone a long way from being 'ninjas'.

Everyone's somehow missing the point. All GloriousDk is trying to say is basically. IF you're against Frost being in MKX where it's totally possible to make her play aboslutely NOTHING like subzero and yes she can have all ice moves and still play NOTHING like subzero every ice idea hasn't been thought up yet.

Then by default you have to be completely against Sektor and Cyrax being in at the same time. They are both Robots, part of the same clan, and they look similar.

If you try to defend Cyrax and Sektor by saying they have different moves, That's what GloriousDK is trying to represent. That Frost to Subzero can be Cyrax to Sektor. But everyone's too blind to see that possibility. To everyone it's always a "wasted slot"

appreciate it, and I don't completely NOT understand you. If you dislike something you dislike it.

While we can argue that Frost can be made to play NOTHING like subzero. You on the extreme end on your PoV You don't want a 28 man Cyromancer Linkeui battle. 28 CHARACTERS 28 ICE POWERS. ALL DIFFERENT.

It can get kill some innovation if you go to this kind of extreme. I think 2-3 Ice people is plenty of room for innovation before you're getting close to recycling ideas on Ice moves.
