Hey... uh.. you all. What's your thoughts on THIS one?

Wow, BBBLP has the closest concept of what a clone is in FGC.

Clones in FGC share animations and movesets in a great majority.

dr.mario is a clone, Ganondorf is a clone, and he looks NOTHING like captain falcon. That's why Sakura is a clone despite looking nothing like Ryu, cuz of the moveset.

If frost is given original normals and her freeze powers in game are completely different than subs. Then she's not a clone.

If looking similar is a mark or clone. Then why is everyone ok with cyrax and sektor?

It's hypocritical.

People who complain that the shotos of Street Fighter are all clones are out of their minds proper. I can definitely feel the difference between Ken and Ryu, Sakura and Goken, Akuma and Dan. They all have a similar fighting style and every single one feels so different that it'd be a noob mistake to use Ken like you're playing as Ryu.

But Frost can't ever EVER be in the game because she might throw an ice ball that might have totally different properties than Sub Zero. But cause she wears a blue suit and has some control over ice, she's automatically from here to the end of time, a clone of Sub Zero.

Thank you, to add to what I said. ganon and falcon play nothing alike in a real match.

I believe the term people are looking for is "similar" not "clone." Doesn't matter how you're putting "clone" in perspective here, you're saying that they play identical towards each other when they simply do not. They HAVE differences, despite Frost has Sub-Zero's slide and puddle moves. It's even stated in her bio that she has "similar freezing abilities." Nothing says "clone" at all.

And this isn't the fan girl saying this neither. If they play the same, act the same, move the same, they're clones. If there's differences, major or minor, then they're "similar" and not a clone.

You guys go into the details and find the differences.
The majority of the FGC community don't. And that's why Ryu, Ken, Sakura etc are considered clones. That's why Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile etc are considered clones. And that's why Frost is considered a clone of Sub-Zero.

The small difference in frames between Ryu and Ken, the small differences in damage they do during the same special moves... all these small technical things... That is not what the majority looks at when judging which characters are "clones". It's usually if they LOOK the part.

Ryu and Ken both do the same kind of fireball, they do the same kind of dragon punch. Sakura and Dan do some alike, and Dan's costume even looks like Ryu's and Ken's. Scorpion, Sub-Zero and the other MK ninjas are considered clones because they all stem from the palette-swap and some of them still look the part.

Frost's entire design and character is inspired from Sub-Zero. They look alike, they dress alike, their moves are alike, their powers are alike. She is the Sakura to Subbie's Ryu. Hence why people consider Frost a clone of Subbie.

Sorry buddy you're wrong.

Scorpion and subzero are not clones... Furthest thing from a clone. They share NOTHING but a ninja like appearance. You're confusing something.

The reason people say that about the SF characters are because they share animations/specials. But they usually put different properties on them to make them still be different and feel different.

Go to SRK and make a thread claiming that subzero is a clone of scorpion. l'm positive you'll get confused responses.

As I said it's the moves and shared animations that make people call them clones. And that's not even a bad thing.
I'm talking from a FGC stance here.

Ganondorf and captain falcon share moves and animations, enough that it's considered a clone. But it's not bad because their properties are changed.

People claiming frost with slide and ice puddle = subzero clone. That depends if this game subzero even has the ice puddle move in this game.

Calling Subbie and Scorpy clones might be a stretch. Other than their shared palette-swap appearance, then true, they don't share anything else. But the rest of the palette-swap characters do. Reptile has Subbie's slide. Ermac has Scorpion's teleport punch. Smoke even has his own variation of the teleport punch.

True, they aren't as much clones as Ryu and Ken. And true, the term "clone" might be too strong a term. But that's what people mean when saying clone. They might be wrong in calling it that, but the meaning behind it stays the same. And they aren't wrong about that part.

Sooooo anyway..

If Frost really is playable, wouldn't that make the leak fake?

Not if she's just a costume for Sub-Zero. She appears later on in the comic, so she might have a minor role in the story. Enough to the point that NRS made a model for her.

One or two moves doesn't make you a clone either...

Jade and nightwolf share a similar charge special.

Go play super smash bros melee and spam the A button. Look at how fox rapid kicks, I guess he's a clone of chun li lol.

Also reptiles slide isn't the exact same, because subzero can combo off Ex slide, reptile can't.

I mean this leak.
I don't see Frost on that list. I was hoping her inclusion in the game could deconfirm this roster leak.

Well, to me, any leak is considered fake until proven otherwise through official confirmation. Thing is... is it a leak or just a guess that could turn out to be quite possible? I mean after all the information we have so far, putting together a list that could turn out to be true isn't really a grand feat.

Yeah, that's true.

Something about the leak I just noticed...There's only 24 characters on that list.
On the last stream, we saw 25 spots (26 including Goro).

That doesn't add up.
