If you had been following the news/rumors, you would know that Jason is on the way. It's no longer a "Do we want more" but "Who do we want?".

Although I'd personally prefer no guest characters, it doesn't really impact my enjoyment of the game if they add them. And admittedly, a pairing of Freddy and Jason seems borderline aceptable.

But Ash? Yes please. I don't care if he fits or not, he's simply to cool to even object against him. As long as he says 'Hail to the king, baby' as his opening line, I'm sold on the idea.

Now get this guest character stuff over with and give me Reiko already dammit ;-)
