Ah, I don't think its possible for me to take you serious, plus, I rather have fun and your outlook on MK is very amusing to me. We shouldn't have to argue, and hate each other over our love for Jax and the Special Forces.

Yes, let me say i'm not a fan of humpies, not a single one of them strikes my mind as like-able at the moment.
Sure, some of them make great music for my ears and have great muscular bodies to feast my eyes upon, but otherwise I don't see any use in them spare for being my psychical prey.
But ontopic now: I'm curious to see if Kotal (who isn't a bad or goodguy as of yet) gets his own chapter, and D'vorah and also Ferra/Torr, I surely hope they end up better as Reptile/Sheeva/Baraka and Kintaro in MK9, they deserve better! They aren't humans and they are awesomely cool.

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but it's an interesting scenario:
What if some chapters span years and aren't necessarily confined to the time period they start in? Like say for Johnny's chapter, we start off in the present and it's brought up that he defeated Shinnok, so we play that out, then he talks about how he defeated whoever 10 years ago, so we play that out, then he fights some goons in the present, etc.
I posed this question to NRS for the next KombatKast. If ya'll are interested in them answering it, tweet the same thing.

This is absolutely positively inevitable. We know that there will be multiple playable flashbacks, well the only flashback that I could see taking up an entire chapter is Kotal's. Take Takeda, he's gonna spar with Scorpion in a flashback and then it's right back to present day, because what else does he have to do as a 15 year old?

I'd be willing to put money on that this is the case. Blazblue took the same route, it's much easier to tell a story if you do faction chapters. that way you can tell multiple stories at one time.
Cassie's group will deal with their own story line
Perhaps another Civil war story line where you're following Kotal/Dvorah/FerraTorr
ect ect. these are just some examples.

How does this work? Do you choose which character within that faction to play as for the entire chapter, or just on a fight-by-fight basis?
I don't see how that can possibly work, honestly. Like... so in the cinematic, you see Kotal and Mileena getting ready to fight, and then once it comes time for the fight you can choose to fight as Reptile? And then when the fight is over Kotal stands over Mileena's corpse? I don't know how Blazblue works, but I don't see how this combines with MK's cinematic storytelling.

No so lets say Kotal-Ferratorr-Reptile-Dvorah are doing their thang. When the mileena Kotal fight happens. you obviously play Kotal.
not saying you get to pick your character, But the story moves on as a group. And when a fight happens the game pre-determines the match up. Maybe Kotal commands Reptile to fight say Rain(assuming) so they can continue after Mileena or something. So Reptile gets temporarily left behind, but after you play his fight, it goes back to focusing on the bulk of the story within that group.
The reason I hate character chapters is that it steals from potential story. remember Jade's Chapter in MK9?
Her only mission was to save Kitana, but it took up a lot of cutscenes and dialogue to do just 1 task that could've been done in a single fight.

Oh, I see! That would definitely help mitigate dumb shit in the story, but I feel like it would get too much in the way of the gameplay if you were forced to switch characters all the time. I'm disgusted with myself for just saying that, because story's #1 to me, but I think this might be too big of a concession to make.

I see what you're saying, If you're switching characters a lot you can't retain what you learned as easily. Either warm hands, or a warmer story. I feel like character chapters just have so much filler that could have been avoided with faction chapters.
Just see'ing everyone in their little "clique" just made me think this might be the route they go.
