What were some of the games you were hyped to get before they came out?

I was hyped for:
-Mortal Kombat 9
-Star Wars: Battlefront 2
-Mass Effect 3
-Max Payne 3
-and Halo 3
 
Some were:

Tekken 4

Tobal 2 (much to my dismay was never localized in North America)
MK9 (one of the reasons why I joined this forum)

I know there is more i got hyped up for but im tired so goodnight.
 
I was real hyped for Pokemon Stadium for N64 way back when. Like alot.

Before I had internet, the only way I knew about it was through my brother who claimed to have read about it in a magazine. And he made up this stupid lie about how it was going to play exactly like Super Smash Bros except you get to play as all 150 pokemon. I was hyped man.

Then I actually got the game and it was just a 3D version of the turned based battles on the gameboy. So dissapointed. What a lame game.

Like Sky Valley thought, I also was under the impression that this thread was going to be about games you were hype for.


So thats what I'm going to do.




Mass Effect 3. I was mega hype for it initially because I wanted to continue the story, but now I have no interest at all. Probably pick it up when it becomes 20 bucks.

Saints Row 3. Was also really hyped for it, then I watched more footage and it looked really stupid. One day I picked it up for cheap and now I love it.

Twisted Metal 2012. Another game I was humping air for. Even talked to Critical about making a clan (the Candy Ass Butt Fu^kers). Then I played TM Black and remembered just how much I suck at it. Picked it up later and its alright.

but on topic, I remember looking forward to Brawl alot. Before release they had a blog that would update every day and give you info about the game, and looking back I feel like a huge loser for checking it. Some of those updates were so ****ing stupid. Like "How to jump" "You must recover!" and the all time worst...."rotation mode"
 
First game I was ever hyped for in my life was Super Smash Bros Melee

I remember checking the English version of the Melee website every day when I was like 6 years old

I didn't actually get Melee until like a year later, so I just continually checked the website every day for anything I could find out about the game, so I knew every character that was in the game before I even got it

Still to this day is my favorite GCN title other than Viewtiful Joe and Metroid Prime
 
Super Mario World and Final Fantasy III are the only games I remember being stay-up-at-night excited about.
