Frost for MKX

In my opinion Frost would be a most welcome addition to MKX or any future MK games for that matter. Of course, I can understand and appreciate the complaints and concerns of others in saying she's hardly the most unique character or a 'sub-zero' clone and she has had poor character development.

However, I do have faith if NRS decided to 'revamp' the character in a fresh and original way, they no doubt could. (As seen with JC/Sonya & Cassie, or Scorpion and Takeda), those characters having similar/inherited techniques and abilities with each other yet playing in their own unique style. I can imagine Frost having a more rush-down style of play than Sub-zero whilst retaining some ice abilities. I would however, appreciate it if they left the freezing to Sub-Zero and gave Frost her own unique spin on the ability.

All in all, it would hardly be the most tragic addition to the roster, whilst not the most unique or original.

your just thinking of how frost was in the old games. and not how she could be today.
if you think in that "how they were" mentality then fujins moves are a copy of kung lao and kitana.

i can think of endless ways frost can be updated and modernized to use ice without it being anything close to what subzero does or her being like whatever 3d game she first appeared in.

eg. small icicle projectiles that come from her fingers
eg. a back dash that leaves a trail of small ice spikes on the ground that stops people running (good against pressure players)

also with fujin i can see him updated having wind moves without it being a copy of kung lao and kitana

eg. wind that slows the characters down from coming towards you
eg. wind that reflects projectiles back at the opponent without the projectile needing to hit him first
most projectile reflections require the projectile to hit the other character first before returning so usually theres plenty time to block or dodge the returning projectile, but with fujins wind h could reflect a projectiule the moment it leaves the opponent
. so a good match up against people like kung jin / erron black

so yeah

both characters have equal potential

and damm it they sound far more interesting than most the actual roster!

Compared to other characters that appeared after MK3, I didn't think Frost was that bad. Sub-Zero may be first ice-based character in fighting game history, but there has been a number of different takes on ice characters since then. I mean, don't we have several MK characters that control fire in some capacity?
 
I think its possible she might have more of a role in MKX or maybe continued in the comics. In MK9 shes in one of Raidens flashbacks, and if I've learned anything from MK and NRS its that they dont do things for no reason. Like Daegon being in the background of the pit in MK9.

It would make sense, Raiden got visions of everything from his future self.

Also, OP is fiercely loyal for one character. :P
 
Given how NRS is handling certain less popular 3D Era characters from the comics and in game. It look like NRS is still high on Li Mei,Sereena and Frost.
 
if MK is gonna add more females for whatever reason they need to be more original than Frost. we need characters that bring something to the table.. not a clone of a MK legend.

Multiple times mentioned in game that she is a natural Cryomancer. She came to Lin Kuei while already having pretty good control over her ice powers.

She simply joined Lin Kuei. Didn't follow anyone. Or if you're talking about why she was with sub zero in deadly alliance, the reason was simple. She was helping Sub Zero and other defenders against Quan chi and Shang Tsung.

With Raiden messing with time, they had perfect opportunity for different Frost. Hell there was potential for Special Forces Frost... but that boat has sailed already. Her future looks REALLY bleak right now.

Now that we have a 3 variation system in MK, I'd like to know how they would come up with 3 more unique variations that don't resemble Sub-Zero's.

There is no need to make her into Ice Ninja. I never saw a Witch in MK. Frost could have become into Ice Witch (something similar to Yuki Onna). No need for her to freeze, she could simply use ice to enhance her mobility or offensive power (both of which Sub Zero doesn't have). Hell with ice powers you could make her into perfect trickster.

There are gabazillion of ice moves I could put on Frost, and Sub Zero wouldn't have shit on her. Hell I could post tons of illustrated special moves of hers right here. None of them copy shit from Subbie. But I think I am already pushing with this many pictures.

Point is. Frost could have been something unique. NRS just simply didn't do anything with her and that's all. Now she is an ice block and I am pretty sure they will find a good excuse of not showing her anymore in MK series. Unless they would make another cameo of her, where she gets frozen again, just for lolz.
 
This is a sad truth... but as long she has ice powers, people will always call her a female Sub-Zero. Even if she is nothing like him other than having ice powers.
 
Based on the cameos in the comic and in MK9 / MKX, I think NetherRealm is pretty much telling us the 3D era characters they care about

Frost, Sareena and Li Mei had cameos in both MK9 and MKX. Frost had a cameo in the comic as well

IF any 3D era characters are returning as DLC or in MK11, it will be these guys
 
I can absolutely see Frost coming in; as was stated earlier, the Lin Kaui have no representative in the new generation, and Frost is rather hot headed, something the new group distinctly lacks.
 
Without Sektor, maybe Frost will try to make her own group against the Lin Kuei.

Of course if she does that, she will be faded to disaster.

She has not the charisma of Sub-Zero. Not to talk about the ability and leadership.

Or she work with us, or better be stuck on ice again.

I hope she finds her place. Specially now that we are going to possible war.
 
I don't really see her taking Sektor's role in creating some random army. Had they not killed Sektor, I would have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the return of the Tekunin. But it's whatever now.

If there's potential with Frost, they can easily do it by the way they ended things with her cameo. Man, some of you really think "that's it" when there's nothing that's saying "we are not going to do anything with this character anymore." As much as I would have loved to see her return, the amount of cameos that she received here was a lot and it tells me that she's certainly not a character that's easily thrown away like Hsu Hao. They could have killed her in the comics but they chose not to. Scorpion could have killed Frost (although it would be a stupid move on his end) but they didn't. She's even mentioned in an interaction between Sub-Zero and Sonya. While it doesn't necessarily say she's got a chance to become possible DLC, it doesn't also say that the developers don't care. It's literally up to the writer's decision about her inclusion while we the fans could think of dozens of ways to make her fit.

Whether people will constantly stick to "she's just Sub-Zero with tits" or have some beliefs that she'll become somewhat different, nonetheless, she is a semi-popular character. You can't deny that.
