A thing i noticed is that before the new patch when you freezed an opponent with SZ the combo damage decreased from 1 to 3% now with the new patch its decreaed from 3 to 5%.

Sub-Zero wasnt really nerfed, his freezing decreses more damage now thats the nerf. But his combos not including freezing moves does the same damage.

So in synthesis, all his moves does the same damage than before but when you freeze the opponent the damage decreases more.
 
I'm one of a few people who's said smokes bombs should hit low and here's why he has no low hitting attacks other then pokes and his sweep so in reality the only defense an opponent needs against him is a high block if you don't believe me take him into practice and turn the AI to always block while standing and see for yourself what breaks through that and as annoying as it may be maleenas roll is easy to see coming so making it hit low wouldn't be as game breaking as some would think

Smoke is already kinda overpowered, he doesnt need that to become the God of Smoke lol

Well, that's the thing. Every character has different qualities (mix-up, rushdown, zoning, countering). Smoke has a bad mix-up game for a reason. If you notice, he has no zoning capabilities either. This is because he has good rushdown and great countering. In fact, he is the best anti-zoning character in the game. Giving Smoke a low smoke bomb would increase both his zoning and his mix-up. Giving Smoke an advantage in mix-up and zoning on top of rushdown and countering would not really be fair to the rest of the cast.

Mixups is just one playstyle you know. Not every character relies on overhead/low/throw mixups to win. Some characters are purely zoners or counter chars.

That being said I don't agree that Smoke is OP. Scorpion and Noob are better than Smoke imo and these guys are A+ tier at best.
 
You do realize giving Kano a low combo starter changes him drastically right so I just don't understand why do that with one character and not another and smokes rushdown is hampered big time by a lack of anything low
 
How is a character with zero low mix ups op I'd really like to know?

Why do you want low mixups when the guy can use your projectiles against you with a shake, when he has teh fastest offensive teleport of the game, when he can stop you with a very fast smoke shot, when he can turn into smoke and avoid your projectiles and appear behind you to punsish you, when he has one of teh fastest x.rays of the game.

Smoke doesnt need more positive improvements. And hell no to a low blockable smoke cloud.

Dont get me wrong, Im a Smoke fan, i play with him a lot in offline, but I think he is more near to the top than other characters. And its a bit unfair.
 
Anyways we've gotten a bit off topic here so I gotta wonder if there's any plans to fix the shake move against a lock on missile glitch
 
A bit disappointed that Kitana is getting a nerf and characters like Raiden won't be *grumbles*. I think that's just my extreme disliking for him though.

I'll wait and see how the changes effect Kitty before crying foul though.

90% of the info came directly from Tom Brady during the S1lent1 stream. The other 10% came from official patch notes on the Mortal Kombat website.
