Curious to know, who else wants to see Rain as a playable fighter?

I will never understand some people.

"Hey let's take out Kitana, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao, some of MKs most historic characters, and put in Fujin, Rain, and Reiko, 3 characters that are only relevant in the comic"

It's not 1995 anymore.

Embrace new things and let the past go.

tough luck on that one dawg, but he is definitely gonna be back for the next game. I am pretty sure of it, he and Shang Tsung both
Hope so. Shinnok is no 'boss', and his hodge-podge, 'the RPG sub boss that John West rejected and flushed down the toilet' "corrupted" incarnation is embarrassing compared to Kahn, Goro and co..

Dunno why they couldn't have included Kahn as they did Goro - as DLC - because Kahn iconography and references appear FAR more frequently in the game than Goro's do. "Pathetic." >_>

Also, don't forget how these characters get changed to be utterly pathetic to how people perceive their in-game realisation: god Fujin > generic Asian guy; Rain > generic ninja with poor man's Raiden specials; Reiko > who?! And only Kitana has been improved categorically of the returning combatants - far more 'daughter of Kahn-esque' personality now and better attire (...to hide her shemale-sans-HRT face!) - while others have been made laughably stupid: 'drunken master', Filipino Lui Kang, anyone?... :bird:

Just apply the 'people are dumb' qualifier to everything you don't get about dopes' dumb decisions / opinions / actions and you'll find such things a lot easier to reconcile. I do; and it works wonders for me! :marchmellow:

Khan got eaten by Elder Gods. Goro lived. Explains that.

As for Shinnok, he's bad ass imo. I put him right up there with Shang Tsung. Though, I've felt that way since his debut back in 97.

And besides, the industry was FAR better in 1995 than it is today. I'd rather MK stay in 1995 for that reason alone.

Yes, because everyone wants games that last an hour and have artificially inflated difficulty.

Hell, if Games today were made the same way games in the day were, you'd have to shell out $5 every time you got to the Continue Screen.....

Fujin is being teased even in that selfie fatality, weird how NRS makes fun of people wanting Fujin in when they actually created him and made him look great in the game...

I think that's all it is, though. Teasing. I had (naively) hoped that Fujin was an unlockable secret character -- NRS' last big surprise. Not the case, obviously, and I very much doubt we'll see him now.

MK11, I guess.

Yes, but it's stupid, why mess with your own fan base? Especially given that Fujin was cut from MK9 and is in the story..

I will never, ever understand NRS's thinking process. MKX's entire roster is still a complete mystery to me. It makes no sense in how the story plays out. It's like:

"Well these characters play a very small role in the story and these characters play a larger role in the story. Eh... Lets take the smaller roles, give those characters roster spots and keep the others as NPC fights. Cause reasons and such."

And honestly, if the reason is "fan service" I find that to be incredibly weak. MK has survived without the inclusion of Kang, Lao and Kitana before. And so long as Scorpion and Sub Zero are made available within the game, I really don't see anyone (sane) having severe mental breakdowns over their favorites not being involved with a game. I understand the "what if" aspect of those characters, but lets be honest... That would have been better for a DLC pack rather than the launch game.

Despite how much I adore MKX - It will always be that one game with the most confusing roster in the entire series. And that's with games like MKIII and MK vs DC.

Definitely agree. I have no idea why they felt the need to include 3 undead characters on the roster. If they really felt it necessary to have all of them, they should've atleast given them the "Jax" treatment and turned them back into themselves. Or you know, have some balls, leave them dead and fill out the playable roster with some of the bad ass looking post-MK3 characters that make appearances in the story.

I will say that overall I like MKX's roster despite the asinine decisions regarding the inclusion of certain characters. My least favorite rosters were Deadly Alliance and Deception (I don't really count MK vs DC)
