Curious to know, who else wants to see Rain as a playable fighter?

It's not just a bare chest, though. It's a cutout. There's a ton of design work there -- the skin showing is accentuated by the lines of the clothing. He's not shirtless, he's showing off his body -- it's quite similar to Kitana's outfit revealing her legs, and feels like consistent Edenian fashion perhaps.
 
Not the biggest Rain fan, but after seeing him in the game if he was to make it in i'd be cool with it but if not, my feelings wouldn't be hurt
 
If we're only getting one more male (1m/1f like Injustice) I agree, I'd want Fujiin. Personally though I'd love if they did Fujin, Li Mei, and then the three story NPCs. Not holding my breath, but I think that'd be perfect.
 
If Injustice DLC is anything to go by (Martian Manhunter and Zatanna) and we get 2 more DLC characters after the Kombat Pack, then my guess is 1 male and 1 female.

If that's the case I'd want Fujin for the male character.
Don't care who the female character would be.

That's my guess as well, and I'm betting on Fujin/Li Mei. I want my girl Sindel so bad, though -- she looks awesome this game.
 
Yeah.
It wouldn't seem to be that hard to make 3 variations on top of her (Sindel's) base medel, as well.
 
I would pay for Rain again, without a trace of doubt. But of course i prefer Fujin over Rain, same reason people stated above (Rain DLC for MK9). About the female, Sareena or Sindel, please. Li Mei is boring.

As a rule, people don't like DLC. They like DLC even less if some (tiny) bits of its content are available for preview in the original game. And if Rain is DLC twice in a row, that will give anyone who is looking for ammunition against NRS the perfect weapon - NRS is keeping beloved fan characters behind a paywall. What's next, Scorpion and Sub-Zero getting paywalled?!

Obviously I think this is nonsense from top to bottom, but the question is will everyone think this is nonsense? Does NRS want to take that risk?
 
I'm all for rain or any fighters for that matter, but if NRS does that and makes us pay for it they should have at least 3 skins with each fighter.

Yes! A grappler one with the hair, one with extra fireballs, and one about flying around I guess (though Ermac's seems pretty useless).

I get what you mean. Personally I have no issue with DLC, but I get why people do. That said, I'd sooner have a beloved fan character behind a paywall then not existing at all. 'Make him free or cut him' feels like cutting off your nose to spite your face, you know?

I agree it's a perception they wouldn't want, I just don't agree with the perception.

Maybe they'll surprise us all and release him for free! Hope springs eternal.

As I already mentioned, I would very much like to see an all-female "Femme Fatale" DLC.

Given that MK is targeted at a (mainly North American) "comic book" audience (in lack of a better description), and not a "anime/manga" type audience, such a DLC is probably not going to happen and male, muscle-bound brutes will continue to be the norm.

With this in mind, I resigned to one -- or two, at best -- future female DLC characters. But who would I like to see (not that anyone cares)?

As much as I love Sindel, Skarlet (and to a lesser extend Jade), they are still in a semi-current MK game (MK9)...

Thus, my 1st choices for a comeback as DLC would be Sareena and/or Nitara.

2nd choices would be Li Mei and Ashrah. Although, if they make Li Mei a playable MKX character, I sincerely hope they improve her design and make her look more feminine and pretty (to me, she looks quite manly in MKX story mode), i.e. make her look more like Xiaoyu from Tekken (and less like Elektra from 80's comics).

My favorite male character for a comeback would be Stryker, Sektor, Cyrax, and Baraka.

Li Mei looks plenty feminine in MKX. She's clearly patterned after Michelle Yeoh, a famous beauty. Xiaoyu from Tekken is a child. Women can be feminine and pretty without having childlike features.
