Comic book and Manga thread

I'm eagerly awaiting the Batgirl relaunch. I'm not sure how I feel about Babs being out of the chair and in the Batgirl persona again. Were they afraid she was going too 'mid-30s sexy but very ticked off and ruthless paraplegic librarian-hacker' in Birds of Prey?

I have a feeling she won't be out of it for very long considering the "new" Joker is returning in october. I just can't imagine Batman without the Oracle at his computer right now they have alfred doing it.
 
I'm not sure the writers will be too willing to revisit the storyline from The Killing Joke so soon. At least not in Batgirl. For one, I don't know many who liked her characterization in TKJ. It's one of the best Batman stories, but at the same time, one of the worst Barbara Gordon/Batgirl stories, and not because Joker paralyzes her. Actually, Joker shooting her was probably the best thing to happen to her character from the reader's standpoint. Barbara as Oracle is way more interesting than she ever was as Batgirl, even if she was pretty badass in the suit. Also, like Alfred, she's one of the Bat-Family that doesn't follow Batman's golden rule.

I did think it was a Dick move (hur hur) that Grayson pulled, calling off their engagement somewhat conveniently after that arc. All so he could hook up with that trollop Starfire...And Huntress...And Black Canary...and...who am I missing? I know I'm missing someone. Jubilee, I think. (Don't ask...)
 
That depends though. I was thinking if they wanted to start out on a high note they'd have Joker attempt to kill Damien or Dick and push Batman into almost killing him or even killing him and then have Batman lose his mind only to find out. it was all a big joke. They could redo a death in the family but with Alfred or something. I don't know. I'm really excited to see what they're going to come up with though.

I really want to see catwoman blow Black masks face-off again. shit was so cool.
 
I still want them to animate the final Jinchuu arc from the Rurouni Kenshin manga, goddamnit

Enishi deserves better than just being in Samurai X: Reflection
 
I haven't read any of them yet, but I wanna read the Spidey, DareDevil and Punisher ones, just because I like the characters.

I finally read all of Kick-Ass 2; gotta say I really enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed Kick-Ass 1. It gets pretty graphic at times (way more than Kick-Ass 1) and some of the scenes were really shocking. I'm not complaining about it though; it was an awesome read and I can't wait to see what they do w/ Kick-Ass 3. Now I gotta start reading Hit-Girl's miniseries.

I like Barbara in general but I started to like her a lot more as Oracle.


It was a fresh change for someone in the Bat family and, really, what the hell can she do as Batgirl that Batman can't just do himself, let alone do it better than her?

She needs to stay in her chair and be smart behind the scenes. That Barbara persona is much more likeable.

I have not...yet. I'm going to get to it eventually. I'm so backed up on comics right now that it's not even funny. I'm on issue 10 of Cable and Deadpool, on issue 3 of Weapon X, issue 7 of the new Venom, still reading AvX and Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe comes out tomorrow so I'm creaming my pants about that right now so I'm all backed up. You should read them and tell me what you think cause you will probably get to them first before I do lol.

I was blown away by how good this Manga is, I stayed up all night reading this (From like 1AM-7:30AM :laugh: ).

Hardly any Fan service, Full of comedy, Cool characters. So If any of you have free time give it a try.

I too stayed up late to read as much of it as I can in one sitting. The girls are nuts, but I like them all the same. The last couple of battles was anti-climatic though.
 
I like Queen more than the rest, but they're all cool and I agree with the last battles being Anti-Climatic.

I'm still trying to figure out how Dal Dal got her Cat ears :|

I find Lee Moon Young the most balanced of supporting characters. She relatively down-to-earth who plays as a big sister, though she has a impish side that is entertaining as well.

Dal Dal's ears are clip-ons. It's mentioned at the end of Chapter 3.
 
Damn.. See this is what happens when you stay up to 7:30AM reading manga, you miss the important shit sometimes :(

I like Queen's "Whatever" Attitude, but seeing that she had feeling for Jae gu didn't surprise me at all.. I kinda seen that coming from the very beginning. I really loved the Comedy in the Manga, It wasn't rolling on the floor laughing material but still I was laughing through most of it.

lol when Dal Dal let the punching bag hit her and she fell on Jae gu.

Then Lee Moon Young's expression about Dal Dal's tireless attempts to get Jae Gu's attention lol.

Priceless.
 
So im reading these Star Wars comics called Star Wars: Invasion where an alien race from another galaxy called the Yuuzhan Vong have come to the Star Wars galaxy and are invading, and it's really interesting so far.
