Anyone else getting rather annoyed with NRS

I have to say that I'm not satisfied at all with the "reveals": I mean, they release absolutely awesome stuff like the x-ray videos and totally useless stuff like the renders, also I don't want them to spoil every fatality so the Shadows wallpapers are welcome. I like those surprise, unofficial announcement like they did for Liu Kang and Stryker so what I really need is getting the whole roster (ALL the playable characters) revealed and new gameplay footage every week, period.
I don't want each fatality or x-ray revealed before the game is out, it would totally kill the fun, I just want to see some GOOD gameplay and some vignette, bios or whatever they are called. The environment bios are cool too, but they have to release stuff on a constant basis, not randomly.

It's been said before, but I would like to reiterate. Mortal Kombat has been about secrets for a long time. I remember people swearing you could fight the Keibler elves in MKII. The games that you felt were the best (MK-MKT) gave much less information about the game than what you have with this one.

We are now living in the information age, and NRS refuses to give you information. So, you assume they either don't know what they are doing or they don't have any information to give. Perhaps, they want to relive the glory days of MK-MKT that everyone claims to love. That means you get to deal with 1994 style marketing.

Agreed Taj.

I'm waiting for Noob Saibot to be revealed (although I doubt he will be revealed before April 19).
If not, then I'll see him when I get the game, or just spend hours trying to unlock him.

I just want him revealed, so that I know he's in.

They've released a ton of content before release already. We get so much video and stuff for free, like these documentaries and combo videos and vignettes. I feel like if they weren't releasing anything, like a few trailers here and there, like they did for every MK game before this, I doubt there'd be as much whining. We're getting way more than we usually get. There's no precedent for the level of complaining that's come from these weekly updates.

It's called anticipation guys. The game is going to be released in a finished state whether we get two awesome weekly updates or not. Would you rather not have renders? Is nothing better?

I was just happy to get a debut trailer with real gameplay in it. Everything else is bonus.

The only ones who are complaining are the ones who are buying the inferior version (Xbox 360).

The 360 version isn't gonna be tainted with foreigners, so I wholeheartedly refute this BS.

On topic:
My signature says everything I think about this issue. I don't want the whole thing to be revealed because then my excitement for the first time I pop it in my machine is that much greater. As an old-schooler who doesn't really care about the story, it's perfect to leave a little something to the imagination since the story isn't gonna keep me in suspense.

All I have to say is, I love what they are doing. They are making it like old school time where we barely got any info. And now thats what NRS is doing.

Plus, I love surprizes in video games:DD

While I DO think that a lot of important and secretive information should be withheld, I would like to see more of what we know and have already seen. Like gameplay of Sonya and Jade. They don't have to show fatalities, but I'm pretty sure that seeing them in action wont spoil anything for anyone.

How many of you have forgotten about being an MK fan in the 90s, and getting nothing but magazine content? You can say get with the times, and I'll say I don't need to. The MK team seems to be trying to recreate that sense of mystery surrounding MK, and I for one applaud them for it. It'll be all the more special when we finally get our hands on the game.

Thats what I am trying to say bro but they ignored me"/.

Dude, I remember I went crazy when I discovered the first MK in the local arcade, also I used to buy a lot of video games mags and you can imagine how excited I was when I first read there was going to be a MKII!!! I still have most of them and the only infos I got prior to the release were a Select Screen pic, another one in which there was Shang Tsung's winning pose and a couple of articles with badly spelled names (I still remember: MELINA & KATINA LOL!) and random infos, THAT'S ALL!

I'm all for leaving most of the game's content concealed (mostly fatalities and obviously secret characters and so), but it's definitely time to get something more interesting than just a wallpaper...

I'm still a little bit on the fence about this. I agree that it's bad we're still getting shadow wallpapers, things like that should be some of the first to be released. But I do agree that they've showed us a lot of stuff. We've seen a lot of fatalities and X-Ray, I don't want to see anymore before the game is released. Also, it's good they did not revealed the entire roster until now, it keeps us in a suspense that, if we did not have, the interest in the game would go down a bit. Like the new X-Ray video, we all got excited because they showed us 3 characters not confirmed before, and that is still keeping us entertained. If NRS is able to still reveal stuff without spoiling the game but still entertaining us, like this X-Ray video, until April 19th, I'll have nothing to complain about their marketing.

you talk like NRS owes you something. It may not be on a consistent schedule but i think they have showed us more than enough

I am in the middle, all I want to see prior to the game coming out is the roster (even if we know) and some gameplay on a reasonable release schedule and I am happy. I enjoy everything else (even if they are stretching it out a bit) but would be just as happy unlocking that stuff in game.

I dunno *shrug* I suppose they are marketing it this way for a reason.

I agree that they shouldn't reveal anymore fatalities. That's part of the replay value (in my opinion) to use all the characters and see first hand what their fatalities look like. I remember back in the day when EGM put out the issue with actors playing Kitana, Baraka, Kung Lao, and Shang Tsung on the cover for Mortal Kombat 2.... I can remember the excitement I felt while reading that article. They showed images of gameplay, but on the sides they showcased some fatalities and the images were tinted red. It almost seemed like it didn't spoil anything and you had to see it for yourself. In the digital age, they show us complete fatalities, and for some characters, both of their fatalities. It takes a little bit of the fun of performing it for yourself out of the game.

I'm getting rather annoyed by people complaining about the game.....

They don't have to release sh!t to us.....I like it better this way because I wont be as excited if I know EVERYTHING about the game.

Man, some of you need to have some patience and just be glad the game is actually coming out and looks good so far.

I'm getting annoyed with you getting annoyed about people getting annoyed by the annoyance of the annoying marketing campaign. :-P
