Anyone else getting rather annoyed with NRS

While it's not a problem for me, the updates do appear to be dragged out, maybe more than what was intended. To address that, I think it's due to the development of the game being extended a few months past its original release window. Perhaps NR couldn't compensate for that extra time with more content to show us, or; the right build up of content towards release.

Put it this way; if the game were to have been released in December as originally planned, we would've received the content at a much faster rate. The amount would likely satisfy everyone due to the shorten time span. Then again, some fans may have still deemed it unsatisfactory...

Anyway, whether I am right or wrong, I think we can expect constant updates between now and the release, so I encourage everyone to be patient because I'm confident it will pay off for you.

i could agree with anybody who's saying that no info should be given in order to keep surprise factor for as long as possible only under one condition...if lets say we wouldn't know the WHOLE roster from the start and it was just being said that the roster will contain 26 character and thats all! in THIS case it would be fair, but lets look at it from another angle...we have like 20 characters or so revealed already right? and there's yet 6-8 characters to go and now as much of you, who satisfied with what being revealed so far have nothing to be hyped about, because you found your personal favorite character made it in (sub-zero or scorpion for example) and now you say i'm okay with whatever NRS keeping in secret...but problem is that you've got your personal favorite announced, and someone else's wants his/her personal favorite to be announced too (because wth why someone would be worse than you) and than you come and say it shouldn't be revealed? now how egoistic is that?

I am satisfied with the amount of info released till now. In the following months, they should post at least few images of the remaining unrevealed characters (RAIDEN damn it, Baraka, Kano, Noob Saibot, ...) just to have an idea of how they will look like ingame and it will be perfect. We don't need more infos. Some of you would go insane from impatience if you were gamers in the early 90'.

oh really? but is it the same as announcing half of the roster, while keeping the rest in secret? no it is not...why? because you keep fans of those half satisfied, while making another half of the fan base abused...and i say if you want to keep things secret either make it from the very start by not even mentioning a word about anything or don't keep it secret at all...

I would be fine with this.
Like the early picture that we got leaked, of ERMAC.
If they did similar picture reveals with Raiden, Baraka, Kano, Kabal and Noob Saibot, I'd be just fine.

I don't need gameplay, just ANY type of visual confirmation.

I am satisfied with the quality of the information, not satified with them dragging the information per character out so much.

They should keep few things secret for you to discover when you buy the game. I am a sodding Raiden fan since 92 and I don't want everything revealed about him, just how he looks like and maybe a tease of gameplay will suffice. The rest I will discover when I'll put the long awaited MK blu-ray in my PS3.

I agree.
Knowing that they're ALL on the MK 9 roster would stop some of us from freaking out. (Myself included)

I don't need to know whether some of these characters are a secret or unlockable, but it would be nice to know (visually) that they made the cut.

I think the amount of info that has been released so far has been decent to good. It could be better, but I'm not complaining, especially compared to how gaming news was done years ago. Also, the sense of entitlement is crazy. We choose to buy a game based on it's reviews, and the quality of the game itself. Not because of it's pre-release marketing to calm our wandering attention.

They're after my wallet...and if they want my money (esp. in today's economy) they're gonna have to work for it. Especially, when the brand hasn't released a mainstream hit for quite some time and therefore can't be trusted on reputation alone (hence the inclusion of Kratos). Otherwise I'll go spend my money elsewhere. I'm speaking for the casual fan a.k.a the real bread and butter of the sales.

None of us here are casual fans of MK. The amount so far of released info/videos/pictures is more than enough for the casual fans. Casual fans don't go on message boards dedicated to one game, and they don't follow weekly news updates for that one game either. Casual fans have seen 1 or 2 videos total on MK9, and a few screenshots, and are satisfied with that, and is just about equal to the amount of info that they've seen about other games they might be interested in. You can't compare MK9 with MvC3's released info when speaking about casual gamers, because no casual gamer has seen every MvC3 video released. The most dedicated of fans are usually the most extreme, on both ends of the spectrum, for any type of entertainment. They either complain the most ('armchair quarterbacks'), or justify everything their team does happily.

Ya, not mentioning a word about anything? Really? That just doesn't make sense. You're complaining that half of the roster is secret, but you wouldn't mind if everything being secret?

Plus, we have a lot more than half the roster. We've seen 21 characters revealed (20 playable if you don't include Goro). We need at most 7 more, if all the rest are in also. That's more than enough already known for the time we have left before release. We haven't seen full gameplay videos for all of them, but that's just getting greedy. 7 left is 75%, and even higher percentage if all of them aren't included, or if NR wants to keep some hidden.

How can you casuals are satisfied? 99% of the people who are casual gamers i know always say "another MK is coming out? cool" thats FAIL marketing

They showed how Raiden looked way back in July in the debut trailer. As well as the various magazine covers he was on. They confirmed him way back then too. I don't think we have to worry about him being playable.

Exactly. They know just as much about it as any other game they would want- not much. When it comes closer to release, they might see another video, or maybe even a commercial (if WB goes that route). Marketing any type of entertainment isn't only for before release, but also after. They might not even see anything until after release, but still want it - And by then even more info will be released for it. Casuals don't need as much pre-release info as a dedicated fan's appetite, and they don't always get games release date. They have a massive amount of MK9 info to read and videos to watch right now, if they want to, only because no casual knows everything about the game as much as we do. My point is, no casual gamer is begging for more MK9 info, as Knives says, who is only speaking for himself.

I am not worried about him being playable :) I know he is. I would be happy with a gameplay picture showing his render (not during his teleport please...).
If they insist on keeping him a secret until the release day so be it.

You are exactly right. To add to my earlier remarks, I think the way they are handling the roster and keeping secrets, is really great. It adds to the mythos of the game. They could have been like, "here's everybody, and the game is out in April," but they are having fun with the real fans.

One thing is for sure, with every photo and video they release, I study each of them carefully, look forward to the next tidbit of information they release, and grow in anticipation for when MK comes out.
