Quan Chi specifically told Raiden in MK9 that ALL of the EarthRealm souls who died in kombat would belong to him, as a token of gratitude from Shao Kahn for Quan Chi, for siding with Shao Kahn.
Even Sindel counts as an "EarthRealm warrior" because her grave was in EarthRealm, and served as the reason preventing Shao Kahn from invading.
Thus, when Quan Chi resurrected her in MK9, her grave was no longer an obstacle for Shao Kahn's invasion.

Raiden:
"No."

Quan Chi:

Raiden offers the souls of Earthrealm warriors. There's no word about those who fight alongside them, yet Quan Chi has claimed them. However, one can argue that Kitana and Jade were already condemned to the Netherrealm due to their dark pasts as Shao Kahn's assassins.

I hope Liu Kang will be main protagonist again and Cassie Cage will die in the story. I can not watch if she kills Reiko or Havik. That would be stupid.

It does matter, because Kitana and Jade seem to be classified as "EarthRealm warriors," along with Sindel.

Regardless, though, if you REALLY want to get technical Kitana, Jade and Sindel's souls were considered as part of the "payment" for the NetherRealm's allegiance.

Shortly after Raiden offered the souls of EarthRealm warriors, the dialogue goes as follows:


Quan Chi:
"How noble, Raiden...... yet utterly pointless."
*brings up ALL the dead EarthRealm warriors, including Kinata, Jade and Sindel*

Raiden:
"No."

Quan Chi:
"You see?"
"Their souls are already mine."
"Shao Kahn's payment for NetherRealm's allegiance."

Nowhere does it say that their souls were condemned to the NetherRealm for serving Shao Kahn.
You assumed that.
 
I take "Earthrealm warriors" means warriors that are fighting in favor of the earthrealm whether they were born in that realm or not. For example Jade and Kitana.

I didn't ignore it, I just didn't find it relevant to quote.
I find it more likely that 10.000 years of serving Shao Kahn, killing millions of innocent people in his name, would indeed have their hearts darkened enough to earn a place in the Netherrealm. Changing side and fighting for the "good guys" in one battle wouldn't be enough to cleanse them of that.
As for Sindel, she was raised and corrupted by Quan Chi so she would serve Shao Kahn. That would be enough for her to be in the Netherrealm as well.

So no, it doesn't matter if they fought for Earthrealm. Their souls would have gone to the Netherrealm either way.

It is relevant because Quan Chi alluded to all of those souls being his payment from Shao Kahn's for his allegiance (not just some of them), so Shao Kahn obviously considered Sindel, Kitana and Jade as part of those souls that belong to "EarthRealm," for Quan Chi's allegiance.
Sindel's ward was in EarthRealm, which was the key to preventing Shao Kahn from invading it.
With Quan Chi bringing her back, he bypassed Sindel's ward, and thus Shao Kahn was able to invade.
Thus Sindel had ties to EarthRealm, before she originally died.

Or he merely showed the souls he had gained from those fallen in the war. Those three amongst them.
