But it doesn't make sense. Why would a soul as valuable as Kahn's be placed into Ermac, a known villain during this timeline? The Elder Gods were holding Kahn in captivity for punishment. It seems highly unlikely that they'd be like, "Hey, red ninja guy, here's another soul for you to get stronger with, even though you're on the side of evil!"

Maybe he was not under punishment. Maybe he died (in some sort of artistic way :laugh: ) and his soul went to the Netherrealm.
Quan Chi is a sorcerer as Shao Kahn, he could easily put the later Emperors soul into Ermac to some disgusting objective.
Also, Shinnok will declare war on Heavens, we don't know at what situation the souls there will be.

Because there's still a lot of the plot we don't know about and that will probably be answered along with a million other questions. Who knows where Shao Kahn's soul could have ended up after the Elder Gods were done with him?

Let me start off by saying that the Ermac we saw... Is probably the alternate costume for him. I can't explain why other than it just feels like an alternate costume. His primary (or if I'm wrong, alternate) will have a mask.
That being said, I do love his look. It's very interesting.
His gameplay? Not a fan. It looks a lot like his MK9 gameplay which was very bleh for me. I especially do not like how he floats the entire time. That's going to be really annoying.
Oh and I just want to point out that this stream officially confirms that Shao Kahn is fu**ing dead. So f*** all you people who tried telling me otherwise. lol
As for Kung Lao's fatality... Meh. Boring. It's presented all wrong. The face should have been lowered into the blade slowly. The whole thing happens to quick and doesn't feel as brutal as the MK9 version.

I feel about the same way. He has never been one of my mains, but Id say Im completely indifferent on this reveal. Ill probably play as him a couple times and that will be it.

Seems like after Kitana and Kung Lao reveal, everyone fights pretty much the same from MK9 (Ermac and Reptile).

He was one of my mains on MK9. But I'm not a fan of this "Superman style", I think I will play with him just to play and know how he is (except possible story fight), but I prefer battle on ground of characters like Scorpion, Raiden and Subby.

I actually dig some of Reptile's gameplay in MKX. But yeah, some of it did feel very MK9ish.
I've always loved Ermac. I wanted to fall in love with his play style in MK9 more than anything. I just couldn't get the feel for him. And considering how similar his MKX self is to his MK9, it'll most likely be the same deal. Oh well. I shall admire him from afar. Or if I want it bad enough, I'll work for it. But I'm expecting some characters that'll fit my style more.
Why? Please, just this once.... Let me be the a$$hole.

I honestly cannot understand the hate towards Ermac's levitation, it's just a bloody animation... it doesn't make him faster or more agile, it's just for us to see. Now about the flying move he has on the green-eye-on-the-chest variation, well that's different but if you don't like it just play as any of the other 2 variations.

ok im just gunna say it..
that constant floating is terrible.. seriously it just looks silly and out of place i cant believe NRS would look back at that in action and decide to keep it in.
its a shame because every other gameplay reveal till now has looked so smooth but this looks horrible.
my main concern is that ermac is a popular character in online play so were gunna be stuck watching this floating mess making the game look shit.
just shows you all it can take is one little thing to screw up such good work

I also think this may be his alternate with recent news that some of the characters we have already seen have been in alts. Would explain why there is so little change visually in some character's variations. For instance, Kung Lao's glowyness.
I hope Ermac's main/alternate looks like the concept art that was going around in fall.
