A lot of people are still upset that we didn't get a human Reptile again. I don't see us ever getting us a human reptile again. During the MK1-3 days, they didn't have the budget to create a humanoid lizard and even if they did then it would take up a lot of make up for them. I think we are going to have to deal with Reptile being a humanoid lizard for now on. I grew up with human Reptile since Reptile was my first MK character that I played as back in 1996 but I'm fine with a humanoid lizard Reptile since that's what he is.

True, and we'll always have the alternate costume or a DLC costume to make him human.

That's where I'm at. I think I've finally made peace with the whole hybrid lizard/human style that he's had in different forms since MK4. This is actually the first one I've truly liked. So much that I have retired the classic human Reptile avatar I've had since I got this account in favor of it.
I do see some similarities to MK9, and I can see why some would be disappointed, but I feel like he still fits in with the general look of other MKX fighters. His MK9 alt was pretty nice, and nearly there, and they seemed to have cleaned it up and made it what it really should have been if last-gen tech allowed it.
BTW, I love your sig so much. I get this wave of happiness from the nostalgia. Those were the days.

Agree with all of this. I can't imagine people still want a human-looking Reptile for any other than nostalgic reasons. I liked him way back then too, but him looking human doesn't make sense. I think this is by far his best look to date.

He doesn't look too silly when he's slapping his tongue around. Im sure a human reptile wouldn't look too awful bad.

Reptile never was human. He was merely disguised as one in MK1-MKT... which is just a bad excuse to just make him a green palette swap rather than make him his own sprites. It was for convenience sake, nothing more.
Now that they don't have to do so anymore, but make him actually look like his race of Saurians, that's what they will do. Those who want him to be human... Why? Why would you want him to be a green Scorpion again? Do you really think Scorpion is so badass that he needs to be shown in all the colours of the rainbow?
All you can hope for is an alt with a classic costumes where he appear human... but why people would want that is beyond me.

I would actaully like to see human Reptile for way more then nostalgic reasons.
I want to see him human again because that's part of his story. Once he finds his long dead matriarch, he can restore his race and return to his human state.
It'd be a nice change of pace to see a human Reptile who doesn't just come across as a giant mutant lizard. I hate all that hissing and weird growling he does and shit. I'd rather Reptile be a smart, respected warrior. Not a dumb, hissing lizard.
Reptile is originally from Earthrealm FFS. He doesn't have to be such a weird monster thing.
You do realize the Saurian are human when they are all together right?
Being separated from there matriarch causes them to devolve into weird lizard monsters and causes them to go into rage.
They prefer to look human.

I prefer him as a reptilian. IMO he is called Reptile for a reason.
That human appearance of his was surely a disguise, since he took off his mask and revealed a reptilian creature inside.
I don't know where the story that when they are all together they become human came from, I've never heard (never been a specialist on Repitle's lore).
But I'm sure he has always been a reptilian, on MKII he takes his mask off on his ending and it's a lizard.
What may be changed on him is his attitude, not his looks at all IMO.

I found this on the MK wiki a while ago.
""Reptile's Armageddon ending shows another female Saurian, possibly the race's long-dead matriarch, which Ed Boon has confirmed will play a big role in restoring the Saurian race in future games.""
This was mentioned after Armageddon, when they planned on making that dark and gritty game.
Lots of people have compared MKX to this "dark and gritty" game we were suppose to get.
I could easily see them bringing back this idea in the story. Kotal Kahn could bring back the long dead matriarch and restore Reptile and his race, in exchange for his alliance.
He already talked about restoring Ferra's people in an intro. Maybe he was telling the truth.

It has yet to occur though. It might in the future, maybe even in MKX, but there has been no sign of any Saurian matriarch yet. Thus Reptile's looks makes sense.

Two things.
It says that the more away from the matriarch they (he/she) "slowly begins to lose their ability to look human".
It means they have an ability do disguise, not that they look human as a natural thing.
It only confirms that Repitle's human appearances are disguise, he is for sure a lizard.
And besides, this is MK: Conquest canon, right? So this isn't on the main canon.

You have to bear in mind this wasn't a fully exposed view of all his variations. On the twitter post it says 'a hand full of his moves'. What we've been shown is limited. There is actually more we've yet to see. I know the trailer didn't show off a ton of new abilities like Kano's and Raiden's but that doesn't mean Reptile has a MK9 move set and that's about it.
