Although he looks like an alright fighter, Freddy just doesn't really fit into my MK game.
I don't think I'll be buying him.
Compatibility Pack, of course... anyone who doesn't install that is just being ignorant to everyone else online who has Freddy.

People who say they won't get the compatibly packs can burn in a fire. You're Going to ruin other peoples online experience, because you don't won't a guest character in your mortal kombat? Heads up dick heads, this is OUR Mortal Kombat, not yours personally. Stop feeling so entitled to something so pity, don't like the character don't play as him, simple. Don't go off on stupid, irrational tirades ruining other people's online.

I won't get the comp pack if it is dumb skins like Ermac and Reptile or Sub and Scorp
I will if it is A cyber Smoke costume and a csz costume

At least Jason or Leatherface would have some cool fatalities. Freddy is eh... I'd hate to have any of them, but the first two are better than Freddy IMO. At least more "MK" like.

I said this from Day 0 with Kratos back in December 2010, and I'll repeat it again, in case it was missed the first time around:
"I refuse to have guest characters in MY Mortal Kombat game."

Unfortunately NRS FORCED Kratos upon us, like a d*** in a dirty whore.
NOT THIS TIME NRS.

This shouldn't be a shock to anyone, as I have made my profound HATRED for guest character known since E3 2010.

Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain are all MK characters. They all have their fanbases, however large or small they are or will get, and are a part of MK lore that can continue to survive. Guests like Kratos and Freddy are a gimmick, and probably just to draw in the casuals like someone else said. They're outsiders and short-lived by nature. I think MK9 is having enough success as a respectable fighter that pleasing the true fans is enough. And I'm sure any true fan will always pick an MK character before a guest character. I mean, it's not like anyone demanded Freddy.

If NRS had taken the time to develop someone from the MK universe, that's another character that is our own and that could live on for future games. Additions like Freddy? Don't actually bring more depth to MK, and if anything they hurt its integrity. They might be fun, and might help financially which helps the franchise, but at the end of the day a well built MK character could have accomplished the same thing and much more.

Anyway I've talked just about enough on this, so I'll leave it at that. Hopefully it makes enough sense to make people understand why so many are disappointed. Like I said, I'll give Freddy a chance, I hope I can enjoy him. Just consider my post.

Lol on a side note, if I like the way he fights...for mk10 I might want them to make a character with his moveset and dual claws. That would be awesomeeeee.

Also his winning pose is amazing.

Hm...I actually liked the idea of having Kratos is Mortal Kombat, 'cuz besides the boost sales purpose, he was actually an extra in the game. Freddy, on the other hand? The way he was marketed, it seems like he took a MK character's place.

I'm...speechless.

Goddamnit. I awoke from a nap expecting great news.. and I see ??? is freddy F*CKING Krueger? GOD. DAMNIT. I won't ****ing buy him. I know I'm not alone on this. **** that shit. I still cant.... Freddy Krueger?? But.... Why? So many more worthy candidates...
