The Official Marvel vs Capcom 3 Thread

finally got home and played it...the intro is great for starters

my first play through was only 7 round until galactus...that sucked, and he wasnt too difficult kinda mediocre really...he's large and thats about it...i mean if he gets on you your in trouble but he wasnt a nightmare like i intended....

my first run through.....( god this game is so asian lol ) anyways...i picked spiderman, wolverine and wesker ( i went with 2 proven contenders and one new to get a feel )

weskers stage ( tricell ) is amazing.....tyrant, lickers and hunters in the background...love it...it might be my new ps3 menu background soon lol

disappointed not to see venom and that actually crushes me, not because hes a good fighter but because venom is awesome ..... why no carnage either? or cyclops?

i like the "license" but with so many titles it reminds too much of call of duty

overall...good game to pass some time MK9 will be here soon...
 
Is Ghost Rider in it? A few people told me that.
I couldn't get it, I let my homey borrow some money :rolleyes:

I was going to rent it as well (do you have Redbox up there, they have it for rent now)

But I wound up only paying $20 for it in the end. Actually $10 considering I got $10 back to spend on another game now too.

We have Blockbuster Video and I have my monthly game pass.

If it is good enough to purchase, I have two Wal-Mart gift cards from work, one with $20 on it and the other with $18, so I wont have to pay as much if I go use them. I wanted to read what other people thought, first.

Is it a lot like SF4? The graphics look the same.
 
Definitely a blast, right off the bat the controls differ from from MVC2. Launching your opponent is simpler. Just hit A (360) or x (ps3) and that will launch then you can follow them up. At first I thought the game play speed was a bit slow but then I started picking it up, and just as fast and frantic as it could be. Can get frustrating online if you go up against someone who *cough knows what they are doing.

MVC3 feels both new and old at the same time, or in other words fresh and familiar. For better or for worse. I will be playing this for a while but I do not know how much I will be touching it (wait, what?) once MK, comes out.

Its like SF4 in the way its very noob friendly, easy to pick up.

I dont see the comparison in graphics. It seems more like a beefed up TvC (plays like it too)

In fact, its by far the best looking fighting game out there at the moment. its absolutely beautiful!!

Looks like I am going to buy it tomorrow afterall. My friend is sh!t talking me because he thinks he will kick my ass but the last straw was when he said that my Chris Redfield sucks. That is where I draw the line.
 
MVC3 has a lot more sparks, glitz, and jazz to it, which is enough to push it over SF4 graphically. Actually Chris owns, love playing as him! Everyone is playing as Dante online, but that is understandable because he is pretty sick.
 
I never really like this fighting game but I have to admit it looks and plays pretty awesome. Still not sure if it's a purchase but it's fun.
 
Yea those Resident Evil characters suck in this game.... Chris is the cheapest character ever, Wesker is a flamer, and Jill is a skank. ;)
 
...what's bugging me the most about MVC3 is the fact there's nothing much to do offline, when you unlocked things...i mean nothing besides playing aracde mode endlessly with characters you already finished it like 100 times...thats boring if you ask me...this game has very few modes, it needed more in my opinion, like Survival, Time Attack so i could actually kill time...problem is that i don'thave LIVE service and i can't play online and i don't really like online to tell you honestly...

play with friends? playing offline with friends is the BEST way to play any fighting game.

...i have no friends that can equaly play with me (my skills are no match for them unfortunately...they're complete noobs at fighting games...), plus they're all not fans of fighting games, and aside from that i don't have much friends, its like 2-3 people i regulary meet...
