Your wishlist for MK10

MK is being ruined and already died? lawlz. Have you played MK9? MK was going downhill for a little while with Deadly Alliance, Deception, and MK VS DC, but it's doing okay now.

Because Mortal Kombat 9 being at EVO 3 years in a row is dead? You're a joke. I'm done, lol.

MK9 is an impure MK game because it doesn't follow the original story word for word. It also carries the stigma of guest characters.

We as fans have an ethical responsibility to disinfect this franchise of impurities...such as guest characters, contradictions to the original story, and most of all, even the slightest hint of oversexualization. If people like N_F don't like it, they can leave the fanbase. True fans NEVER tolerate impurity to their product!

I have another thing I want (or rather don't want) in MK. NO MORE CYBORGS!

I seen someone comment that Kuai Liang could become Noob Saibot (Cyber Noob) while Bi-Han becomes Sub-Zero. Hell No to this at all.

1. It turns another popular character (Noob Saibot) into a cyborg.

2. The whole entity that is Noob Saibot does not fit Kuai Liang as it does Bi-Han. Kuai Liang was not evil. Raiden straight up told Bi-Han that he was. Bi-Han did nothing to attempt to change that and thus faced his punishment (Quan chi used the evil in him to make Noob Saibot).

3. It gives us 5 robots to the franchise (Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke, Sub-Zero, and Noob Saibot). Color coding and palette swaps should be done at this point.

I don't hate Cyrax and Sektor but it should be obvious at this point that it pisses people off to have their characters turned into a cyborg. People were mad with Smoke, and I'm still not over Mk9's character rape of Kuai Liang.

So NO more cybers. Please NRS. Stick to what you've got and reverse some of the dumb things you did in the last installment.

If you're done doing your best Adolf Hitler impression, I think we can move on.

I don't care what you say, MK9 is great.

As for cyborgs... I think if NRS wants to add more, wait until after they are done with the original story line and come up with a brand new MK game. Also don't turn anyone into a cyborg. If they are going to have one, make it a brand new character.

There are no robots in MK, there are Cyborgs. Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke, Cyber Sub-Zero, Jax, and Kano. Maybe Kabal. Not sure what gives him the superhuman speed, but he does get it after he is worked on by Kano.

Shujinko for MK10.

I cannot stress enough on the potential he has got for becoming one of the main protagonists, it would actually make sense for him to be present during the altered timeline too, going off the events off MK9. There is quite a lot that can be done with revamping his fighting style and abilities as well, come on NRS, don't shy away from your past quality creations just to stay safe and appease the majority. The same goes for Kai.

Every MK game after Deception is Impure MK, and therefore does not count as MK!

I could see your point with MKvsDC, because it didn't follow the story continuity, and given that NRS made MK9 and Injustice after the acquisition of Midway, MKvsDC now mainly feels like NRS was saying to WB "Hey, look at what we can do with Mortal Kombat AND DC comics."
Seems to me like Midway knew that they were a sinking ship, and they were likely trying to appeal to WB to save them.

I'm pretty sure that he meant cyborgs.
IMO, Ketchup, Mustard and Smoke were enough.
We didn't need a refrigerator, as well.

NRS was doing it to "make someone a cyborg who wasn't a cyborg before" (to paraphrase Ed Boon).
Doing it purely for that reason feels just about as terrible as changing the race, sex, or sexual preference of characters in movies, just for the sake of being politically correct and pandering to a certain audience.

You're just butthurt because it was your favorite character.
Because Sub Zero getting Borged was a great twist. A lot of people wondered what it would be like if Smoke was the one who escaped.

Although it doesn't really matter because of the church scene.

Because Sub Zero getting Borged was a great twist.

It was a terrible twist, and the story for it was utterly weak.

Raiden, Johnny Cage, Smoke, Liu Kang and Kung Lao were in the arena, and none of them could have helped stopped the Lin Kuei from taking their friend, given that Raiden single-handedly took out 6 cyborgs in the Living Forest? OK, sure.
Also, Chapter 11 thru 17 is where the story turned to shit.
Kung Lao gets his neck snapped, and NONE of them were able to say "Kung Lao, watch out!" to interfere? HORSE SHIT!
On top of that shit, pile on the terrible Sindel church massacre and Raiden killing Liu Kang because he's a klutz thunder god that can't control his own power? OK.

I didn't mention how he was automated. Because it was very stupid that no one even attempted to stop them. Just the idea that the timeline was changed so that Sub Zero was the one who was captured.

In the story mode of MK9, I believe Kano claims that Kabal's speed is a side affect of Shang Tsung's magic when they attempted to heal him. I don't consider Kabal a borg. Minus the magic, he's like Bane from TDKR. He's just f***** without his mask. I'd be curious to see how they could expand on him if they ever went the direction his MK9 ending depicted.

Meh, I usually agree with you bblp, but I agree with araknyd here. I'm a fan of Sub-Zero too, but a year before the game was released people were saying Sub-Zero is going to get automated because of Boon's comment at E3. On top of that it was the most obvious change that they could make and it just felt like they did it for the sake of doing it. Cyber Sub died anyway and so did Smoke. So why automate either one?

Plus, and I know you're a fan of smoke, the automation process benefitted Smoke more than it did Sub-Zero. Smoke doesn't really have a lot going for him storywise, but the automation process gave him something.

If Smoke's ending holds true he's pretty much on the same track as a human that he was on as a cyborg too. It's just happening sooner. He's going to become a demon.

What this all breaks down to though is obviously by this argument nobody wants their favorite character to bite that cyber bullet. If they absolutely HAD TO though. I still say it should have been Smoke instead of Sub-Zero.

I just had a thought going off our idea for Shinnok. Like we said before, as a playable character you get Shinnok's humanoid form. But on the ladder he takes a demon form. What if his form was the MK dragon? It would sort of work because in MK9 we see the Gods take that form and Shinnok is an Elder God. That would be cool to see the logo used that way in my opinion.

This 100%.

Also, I would have loved to have seen human Sub-Zero's story evolve more in the sense of putting his petty revenge shit aside, and aligning with Scorpion to hunt down Quan Chi, via his Mk9 ending.

It would have made the MK10 story possibility that much more interesting, with Quan Chi and Shinnok getting ready to take over, meanwhile Sub-Zero and Scorpion are hunting them down.
Hell, that story arch that I just mentioned even has the possibility of introducing us to Sareena, as Sub-Zero could free her from Quan Chi's grasp, and BOTH Sub-Zero and Scorpion could've gained another ally in the hunt to kill Quan Chi.

Dude, the bulk of the story was utterly weak. But I digress. Anyway, I think we're all on the same page when it comes to "MK girls shouldn't dress like prostitutes."

As for the cyber thing, I agree. It's like giving everyone with a pulse a green lantern power ring or a symbiote. It's a gimmick that WAS cool, but is quickly being run into the ground.

Something else on my wish list, do something with the Zaterrans, Oni and Vampires. I mean what's the point of having these races in the mythology if they're never going to be elaborated? Remember Raiden's ending in MK:DA? I feel like having those races do something was going to be an idea for a future game somewhere before Boon lost his shit and decided to scrap everything.
