Why the Hell are Reptile's DLC going for $50-80 on eBay?

I don't get it.

These consistently sell for a minimum of $50. Its not just for Xbox either, PS3 as well.

Do people hate the regular reptile skin that much?
Is it one person buying them all up?

Common sense says that as each person buys one, the demand will go down and the price will slowly go down. That has not been the case here.

None of the other DLC's sell anywhere near that.

Jade - noone buys because you might as well just buy the Blu-Ray

Scorpion - Majority of people probably pre-ordered from Gamestop

I know these will all be available eventually for $.99 or whatever NRS decides to charge. I'm just baffled by the Reptile sales.

I am going to assume it is because Reptile's current kostume sucks and people want the ninja look.
 
IMO it's a combination of Reptile being awesome and people not liking the costume.
 
Those people are smart selling those DLC codes for so much because there are actual dummies who are impatient and would rather spend the $50 (or whatever the prices people are asking) instead of waiting around. Down the road those classic costumes could even be free DLC, imagine that! Poor guys lol
 
i think its b/c the reptile code was an amazon.com exclusive and not many wanted to have mk9 shipped, and wanted to pick it up 4/19, making the reptile skin rare...

and cuz reptile is awesome
 
The only one I would go for is Kitana. I already have two of them, Scorpion and Ermac. I don't like the others.
 
Some people would just rather pay anything to get something now, instead of waiting for later. I don't get it either.

That's assuming they know they'll be coming out later. There very well could be people who don't realize they'll be out as DLC down the road. Add to that that they may not have even known about pre-order bonuses. My brother was surprised by the code he got for SZ when he bought from Best Buy (I was absolutely certain he'd pre-order from GameStop, seeing how he was always a huge Scorpion fan, but instead he just didn't know). So if someone sees an option to purchase and enter a code for Klassic Reptile that they didn't know was an option.......

Or they could just be impatient morons. Unless you ask them, you can't actually know which is the case.
 
^^ I have a few friends that are very unpatient about stuff like pre order DLCs. Once they got a few versions of a game to get promotional codes and sold the games at half price so they lost a quite some cash XD

I got Scorpion DLC.
I love Scorpion and SubZero so I'd like to get a SubZero code but I'm not paying 50 bucks for it mainly because with that money I'd just get a new MK copy with SZ code and sell the game afterwards :P
 
Reptile's is definatly the sickest! I would pay that much but I'm really hopeing they make it availible for DLC soon. I had no idea I could get Reptile's Retro through Ebay otherwise I definatly would have. Human/Lizard Reptile is soo cool! I got Scorpion's because I only heard about the Gamestop Promotion and I love his Retro costume/Fatality. Toasty is soo cool for anyone that didn't get it definatly get it if it becomes availible for DLC.
 
Funny thing is, I've only seen somebody use Sub-Zero's Klassic online. I haven't seen anyone use Reptile or the female ninjas.
 
just a week i go i got my Reptile klassic for $25 buy out on ebay. I actually really do like the costumes for this reptile ( only thing that really bothers me is his feet), i'm not sure if its living in the past or what but actually using Klassic Reptile is way too much fun. Also on the plus side I got Ermac's for eight dollars which was kinda sweet. Cant wait for the DLC and hopefully see more stuff soon
 
People are crazy considering these costumes are coming out soon for little or no cost. I'd say tops $5 for all the retro ninjas.
 
Yeah, people on Ebay always rip you off.
Though the real idiots are the ones buying them. I mean, they're just codes that make your character look different.
