Vote WHO WINS MKX match-ups!

Sure it did! Jax has cybernetically enhanced arms. It takes a lot to bring a dude like that down. I bet all historic human generals would lose in a fight against him. What makes you think that Reiko, a general, could take him?

Well, as a general of Outworld and a member of the Brotherhood of Shadows, I can imagine Reiko having fought and defeated all sorts of monsters and demons. A human man with robot arms shouldn't be a biggy.

Also... Why do you question my choices? It's alright if you disagree, but I thought this thread was about just having a bit of fun, playing a little forum game as we wait in-between news. I shouldn't have to defend myself to you.

Raiden vs Shinnok (6-4):

Despite the power of the fallen Elder God, Raiden is no fool. His pacific appearance always mask his enormous power and skill. Although Shinnok was a god and is not an easy foe, Raiden already know what he has to do to defeat the fallen Elder God.

Raiden is too quiet, but everybody knows that when he gets mad...just get out of his way.

Kung Lao vs Kenshi (4 - 6)

It could be a similar vote of the one I gave to Kitana vs Kung Lao. Kenshi was arrogant too, and his desire of being the top fighter led to his lack of vision. What he lost on vision, he was compensated on his other senses, and also with the help of the magical sword, Sento.

With this, he can beat Kung Lao, who would offer good resistance, but Kenshi's abilities are superior to his skills. Kung Lao can teleport, but just by making a sound, he is already noticed.

Jax vs Reiko (2 - 8):

Reiko is a legendary warrior. Countless years of existence, ruthless, brutal, genius and with unimaginable skill. He would be a little tricked by Jax's arms at first, specially when the soldier is strong enough to use them as he wish, but he would be no match for Reiko.

I don't mean to sound like I'm putting your choices down or anything. I hope it hasn't come across that way. I just see nothing wrong with a bit of healthy debate, and having a better understanding of why people make the choices they do. I take it you assume it's not possible to become a high ranking military official in Outworld without displaying high level combat skills. I'm curious why you would think that. Is it because Shao Kahn seems to value fighting ability, and in your opinion would pick a good general who happens to be a great warrior to lead his armies, over a great general who can't fight?

I'm genuinely curious. :)

Oh. In that case I should not be so defensive. :P
I guess having spent alot of time on gaming forums where people challenge your viewpoints to find a sort of weakness they can exploit and do all in their might to try and put you down does that to people, huh.

7-3 in favor of Shinnok. If Raiden could defeat him on his own, he wouldn't need all the Earthrealmers to help.

6-4 in favor of Kenshi.

7-3 in favor of Reiko.

Raiden 10 - Shinnok 0:

Shinnok is the poor man's Satan. Raiden is the rich man's Thor. It's no contest.

Kenshi 7 -Kung Lao 3:

Hat's still lame. Telepathic sword not lame, even if Kenshi is. Also why is Kung Lao fighting in back to back rounds?

Jax 7 - Reiko 3:

Reiko's awesome appearence in the comics kept him from losing 10-0. Despite being the Outworld version of Littlefinger, needs to open a few brothels, Reiko's strength lies in his ability to outthink his opponent. Whereas Jax is a brute who's only good at whoopin ass, having little importance to the story and jive talking.

Also why is Kung Lao fighting in back to back rounds?

I ran out of characters that I think are good/interesting matches for one another, and Kung Lao's tie felt somehow inconclusive. :P But as of next round there'll be tons of repeats. I'm not going to touch D'Vorah, Erron Black, or Ferra/Torr because we have absolutely nothing to go on.

Is it only characters that have been hinted at or something? How about Smoke, Noob, Baraka, Sindel etc?

7-3 in favor of Raiden. Dont mess with the thunder god. Shinnok is a fallen God but idk if there is anyone I'd give an advantage to over Raiden.
5-5 for kenshi vs Kung lao, I don't really see anything to separate either one of them.
6-4 in favor of Reiko. Jax is one strong dude with his enhancements but Reikos experience gives him the edge imo.

It's only characters who are still alive/confirmed to exist in MKX timeline. So no Smoke and Sindel, but yes Baraka and maybe Noob!

Raiden 3 - Shinnok 7 Lord Greyjoy thanks. Your argument changed my mind. I was going for the tie, but then Ithought what you said and you re right. On a one-to-one Kombat Shinnok would win
Kenshi 6 - Kung Lao 4
He can basically stop the hat only with his mind
Reiko 7 - Jax 3
Jax is a power house, but he is slow. Reiko would kill him in a blink of an eye

Tarkatan Trash Sleegmar Guys for the love of God, If you believe that Raiden would win, that is fair. But 10 - 0? Are you serius people? For the love of God, Johny cage gets to win Goro 2 times and a f***ng Elder God can't beat a God at least once? Unfair IMO

Almost as stupid as the person who said Kung Lao vs. Kitana was 10-0 in Kung Lao's favour. Yes, because a c*cky 20-something year old monk can defeat a 10,000 year old Edenian princess who has been trained all her life in the art of combat & also happens to be an expert assassin. Not to mention she's probably killed thousands, if not millions of people in her lifetime. His reasoning for Kung Lao winning is a poorly constructed rant about how Kitana is 'stupid' because she couldn't 'discover the truth' about her father and her origins. I don't recall Kitana being telepathic, so there is no way she could have known about what happened since it happened when she was an infant.

I get it, people are entitled to their own opinions. But if you're going to have an opinion, try not to have such a biased one and actually use some form of logic or factual information to back your opinion up, other than your personal opinion, which is clearly based off of which character you like more.

Very well said. I don't have enough posts to thank you, but thank you!!!!

EdenianGoddess you were not refering to me, but i
said 7-3 or something for Kung Lao. I Know Kitana
is very old. But that does not mean she has to be
very strong. If so, being 10.000 years old could make
her one of the strongest, or maybe even the strongest
Kombatant. I guess she isn't training her skills all day,
like Shaolins do. Hell, Kung defeated Shang, Quan, and
Kintaro. Can't see Kitana doing that.

Besides this, Shaolin Monk >>> Assassin
in a fair and square duel. My opinion.

I get your point, but this thread was made
for fun. I was wondering too why many
people gave Kitana the edge against Kung
Lao... but thats their opionion. Its true,
10-0 is a bit hard though.

I don't think you quite understand how long 10,000 years is. You could do & learn absolutely anything in that amount of time. The reason you don't see her 'training her skills all day' is because she doesn't need to train, she has already had 10,000 years to do that. She has more knowledge & skill in combat than Kung Lao could even fathom. Kitana defeated Shang in the MK9 story and brought him before Shao Kahn, as for the others she was never given the opportunity to 'defeat' them so you can't say that she couldn't.

I also think you're forgetting this 'Kung Lao' (who you make out to be a god of some sorts) was stupid enough to let Shao Kahn walk behind him and snap his neck.

10,000 year old Edenian princess with more training and skill than Kung Lao could ever muster in his entire lifetime > 20-something year old Shaolin Monk.

I think this quote sums up what I think of this whole Kitana vs. Kung Lao debate:

Kitana: "Kung Lao"
Kung Lao: "You seek a challenge, Kitana?"
Kitana: "Yes, but you will do."
