And? Reiko is the only character who could have possibly fought that huge monster? What's the cut-off? Kenshi could fight that huge monster, but Kung Lao couldn't? Kung Lao could, but Reptile couldn't? Sorry, I must have misplaced my Monster Manual where it says exactly how powerful that huge monster is.

Reiko has the looks, the strategy, the brains, the interesting background, the mystery, the flatter, the muscles and the age at his side.

In other words: Reiko is way cooler, therefore he would obviously win in a fight. Well, how can anyone possibly contend with that logic?

Let's try it this way: Liu Kang doesn't have the looks, doesn't have the strategy, doesn't have the brains, doesn't have the interesting background, the mystery, the flatter, and age. He doesn't even have metal arms!

So, I mean, obviously Reiko would beat Liu Kang in a fight, right? Erron Black would beat Liu Kang, Kotal Kahn would beat Liu Kang, Ermac would beat Liu Kang, Kitana would beat Liu Kang, Johnny Cage would beat Liu Kang... right? :rofl:

Jax is just your favorite, that's why you think he wins.

I find Jax utterly boring, and have never used him outside of the single player in my life. We know next to nothing about both of these characters' abilities, and I sided with sci-fi arms over age and experience. I could be wrong, but at least I'm not a dick.

.....I knew the day this thread was created people were going to be at each other's throats over their opinions. It happens in almost every Thread like this.
Its like when someone's opinion is too farfetched to them, they grab a knife and try to stab it right in the ass.

The next round of kombat is upon us, and this one is very comic-flavored! A duel that has been, a duel that will be, and a classic duel that may yet come to pass: Kotal Kahn vs Goro, Scorpion vs Raiden, and Sonya vs Kano!

P.S. I think we have to assume, based on "Blood God" being one of Kotal's variations in-game, that this is now his permanent power level. He wasn't temporarily OP relative to his own strength. I'm open to arguments to the contrary if you disagree.

6-4 in Sonya's favor. She defeated Kano in MK3 and in the movie, even though he studied her moves, but he was beating her ass in MK9 for a minute there and has always managed to elude her.

9-1 in Raiden's favor. Not even close. Raiden is a god and has shown his fighting prowess time and time again. Scorpion is an interesting character, but he's never been shown as a powerhouse.

Kotal vs. Goro is tricky. Should we count normal Kotal, Blood God Kotal, both separately, or it does it not matter?

I love Kotal, but I think Goro would typically wreck him. Goro is an undefeated champion of MK for 500 years and has defeated many great warriors.

Normal Kotal: 8-2 in Goro's favor
Blood God Kotal: 6-4 in Goro's favor

To be fair, we don't know the extent of what the blood code does. We don't know how much stronger it made Kotal. He still managed to get his ass beat and only seemingly summoned the will to win when Goro insulted his father. So this feels like a crapshoot. Nevertheless, I'll go 6-4 since it's obvious both have a decent capacity to win, although Kotal seems to require a little push at times, which drags him down a bit.

I was actually just thinking about that while you answered. I added a P.S. to my post. I think that Blood God Kotal is as of now standard Kotal.

By normal Kotal, I mean before he invoked the blood code. I gave an answer for both scenarios anyhow. Use blood god if you believe that represents his MKX state.
 
6-4 Kotal vs Goro

As [MENTION=18253]Lord Greyjoy[/MENTION] mentioned, this is a hard one to call because we've seen so little of Kotal (this is why I don't want to do too many new characters). I, too, feel that Kotal was only able to win because he was properly motivated. However, what stops me from putting them at 5-5 is that this was the first time Kotal ever used blood magic... if it's at all like any other skill, then repeated use will certainly make him significantly more adept. That, and Kotal did have to go through a dozen guys on his way to Goro. So I think 25 years into the story, he has the edge.

7-3 Raiden vs Scorpion

Let's reason this out. Liu Kang has beaten Shao Kahn three times across the two timelines, fair and square, but I'm sure those were all hard-fought battles, so let's say they still go 5-5. Raiden didn't beat Shao Kahn during Armageddon and couldn't beat him in MK9 without a power boost from the Elder Gods, so he can't be stronger than Liu Kang after Liu Kang has unlocked all of his potential, right? Scorpion is in my opinion the second strongest Earthrealm warrior after Liu Kang, so there's absolutely no way this can be a blowout. I think Scorpion puts up a very serious fight and in some circumstances (i.e. either meets Raiden in Netherrealm, or transports him there during the fight) definitely takes the fight.

7-3 Kano vs Sonya

Sonya is a woman who seemingly has no supernatural skills, and eschews the use of weapons in combat. That immediately puts her at a disadvantage against a guy as huge as Kano, who on top of his natural size brings an entire arsenal of tech with him to every battle, starting with his daggers and all the way up to his laser eye. I know that Sonya has a 2-0 against him in the games, and a 1-0 in the film, but she would have been in big trouble without Johnny Cage around in MK9, and in the film she was getting her ass kicked the entire fight and won with a single lucky move. This doesn't feel Sonya-favored at all.
 
6 Kotal - 4 Goro

Goro's arrogance gives the advantage to Kotal IMO.

6 Kano - 4 Sonya
Kano has no rules. Sonya does. Kano wins.

Sonya is obsessed with Kano, nothing else matters to her, and still after so many years she does nothing to even scar him. I believe this is the worst cop in the history of mankind.

Raiden and Kotal winning is only obvious.

Raiden 8-2 Scorpion
Raiden is the God of Thunder, Scorpion is a resurrected ninja blinded by hatred and revenge.

Sonya 7-3 Kano
Sonya has defeated Kano on many occasions, whilst Kano has yet to defeat her once. Not only is Sonya a lieutenant in the Special Forces with extensive military training and combat skills, she is also extremely intelligent & has a vast array of tricks up her sleeve e.g. blowing poisonous kisses that blind the opponent, shooting energy rings from her hands & tearing people in half with just her legs. Kano is a formidable opponent, but he lacks the training that Sonya has. He is extremely arrogant & relies solely on brute strength and cybernetic gadgets to win a fight. It is a close match, but Sonya wins, just like all the other times.
