Usernames

I swear I thought I posted why on this topic before but anyway I chose the name "Robot Commander" because the cyber ninjas(Smoke, Cyrax and Sektor) are my favourite characters and I can kick everyone's ass in the neighborhood with them so I felt like they were my "Robots of destruction" and I was their Commander.
 
How'd you come up with your screen name?

I've been seeing some pretty unique screen names lately. Eks, Ricochetmatt, Deathcoreryknow etc.
So I was wondering how did you come up with your name?
And was it your first choice?

My favorite character is Sub-Zero, but while I was lurking I saw a few people with Sub-Zero related names and I wanted to be different. So I went with another favorite of mine, Baraka. My first choice was something like "chop chop blades" or something like that, but it was taken. So I went with "back,back,back, low punch", the button combination to do his chop chop blades :)

I used my real name and had to add the X's because someone already picked Jade.

It was always my choice because it is easily fitting for MK =)

Supershamu, ha ha i saw this tv show made in alaska, antartica or the north pole or something. It was featured on that awesome show back in the day max x. He is like this balding guy in tights with horrible voice overs and acting. Needless to say i havent been the same since i saw that

6:53 is a lyric from a song that just stuck with me. I typically use those numbers for my usernames. Makes it easy for my bad memory :laugh:. Jarvis is just my name, something for people to identify with. But I do regret making this username, I thoughtlessly typed it in as I didn't expect to be a regular member. I would prefer something more formal, or MK related, but unfortunately stuck with it now.

For me, Ryu Hayabusa is easily one of my favorite video game characters of all time. As well, I love ninjas!!!!!!!! (note: I hate Naruto with a passion!!!!!! It is a disgrace to authentic ninjas and real ninjustu!) Yes, I have a very deep passion about japanese culture as well as their martial arts and my dream is to go to Japan and learn REAL Japanese martial arts there. Anyways, I really like the name Hayabusa as a clan/last name and it always just stuck with me since the first time I played Ninja Gaiden. As for Tenkai, I first found the name associated with a character from Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, a warrior monk/samurai who looked like a total badass. Later I found out while doing some research that an actual Tenkai may have existed who was believed to have possibly been Mitsuhide Akechi, the man believed to have assassinated Oda Nobunaga (the man who originally united Japan in the 1500s). So yeah, thats my story! :)

Had your name been anything different, you wouldn't as badass as you are now :)

EDIT: @Tenkai: Bro that is almost like my dream, but I hope to go to China to learn their fighting styles. And I love Oniumsha!

China is deffinitely on my list too...as Bruce lee once said, always keep your cup empty ;)

While she was doped up in the hospital, my mom tried to name me Dijon (after the mustard). Grandma came in for the save :)

@Jarvis: Lol, I'm sooooo glad chop chop blades was taken. Like you, I hadn't intended on becoming a returning member. I don't remember why I joined but I'm glad I did. This is the first forum I've ever joined and posted on. You guys are my first, be gentle lol.

b,b,b,lp is better than chop chop blades, more Kryptic ;). I initially joined to write some misguided thread about MKHD. But just kept making more posts as I found the forum to be a good environment for discussion. Not my first, but easily the best for MK.

"Sunlighters" is the name of an editorial in a magazine my all time favourite male model featured in.
The images were really awesome and powerful, and I loved the whole theme and the word itself, so boom, Sunlighter.

"Deathcore" is a hybrid of death metal and hardcore music, but that's totally not where I got that from. Back in 2002 or 2003 (before the original forums here shut down) I chose "death" because I thought it related to Mortal Kombat and "core" because I thought it related to metal (which it really doesn't). "Ryknow" is just what my friends call me (my real name's Ryan).

I stuck with that name for the sake of anyone who might've known me on the original TRMK forums, but it is just god ****ing awful. I hate it. That's why I always sign things as "DCR". One of these days I'll probably just have Pat change it to that.

So yeah, do me a favor and call me "DCR".
