The Official "Your Worst Opponent Online" Thread

Watch out for megamannerd. When he knows he is gonna lose, he sits at the other end of the screen and shoots Liu Kang's fireballs, high and low.

I hate people like that....

edit: KAYRAPH

Kung Lao player, just keeps turtling like a loser.

edit: ICY-__-BALLA ~ Raiden spammer.

Atleast im not named here.
Eh, I have had too many smoke, Noob, and Kenshi spammers to name, But I have one, Not on the PS3 at the moment, but when I get on the PS3 I'll edit this post with his/her name.

if a kung lao player is turtling, he's playing his character wrong ^^.

i have trouble against sindel since i never know if the hits are coming high or low. i mean her kicks are sometimes overheads and her punches are sometimes low hits. it's very confusing and needs some getting used to.

Kabal player, goes to the other side of the screen to shoot the whole time.

Seriously, the amount of lame players is amazing.

omg
sry 4 this, but i say, after 6000 online matches, 90% of the online mk9 community is crap, just crap!
i wait 4 KOF 13 and i drop this fanboy-broken-braindead-no deepness game called mk9
if mk 10 or umk9 is much better than this version, i play it maybe

Honestly in reality I'm spiteful. So seeing rushdown players going *argh I hate people who won't get un my face to eat my hours practiced 40%juggle!

It makes me want to do it more...constantly even

You can tell when someone disconnects when the game so conveniently "this game session is no longer available" after Finish Him pops up. When someone pulls the plug of their internet connection you get that error

I hate when this happens. Especially when its a tag match that goes back and forth for three whole rounds and they disconect after losing. Seriously a waste of time.

Then why play it so much? Sounds like more of a personal problem.

I've only got 90 or so games under my belt. Cage will get to me some times, but the only one to really destroy me was Quan Chi where he would do the drop behind me and I have to block in case it to hit me and then I got comboed. Could never get the first hit in. Prolly should have jumped over him.

....because playing online can be quite fun. I have had a great time playing in ranked but you get a series of shit players who do annoying things instead of just play the game. If you suck, who cares? I fought a Raiden player yesterday who absolutely blew chunks but I give kudos to the guy for at least trying to play. I had TWO people yesterday just keep jumping away to let the timer run out, one guy just kept shooting Sindel's attacks from the other end of the screen, several Noob players who just used two shadow moves the entire time, a Mileena player who just kept rolling and teleport kicking, a Scorpion player who just kept teleporting and spearing, a Raiden player who did nothing but torpedo, a Shang Tsung player who just kept the fire skulls going, a Liu Kang player who just bicycle kicked and shot fireballs......these are the people who make online garbage.

Losing is not the issue for me. I think my record is 40-75. I don't really care, I am just trying to use it as practice so I can get really good at Sonya and to have some fun. It's the lame players who don't try to play. Most of them are easy because you just watch their pattern and you know when to block and when to go in for the attack but I want to play people who actually give a shit about putting on a good match, win or lose.

Most of these people actually know how to play the game, they are just trying to be cheap to get a win.

i still haven't faced you yet . i wanna see how you play. why do people get intimidated when i have 300+ wins and 200 loss omg its like being 20-10

Face me?

As for intimidation, I personally don't get intimidated. I don't care about win/loss, I've beaten both high winners and low winners. I like the challenge =)

I did, however, notice that a lot of the people I have played with high wins are people who choose characters like Raiden, Smoke, Ermac and Noob......Guess not enough people online have figured how to counter yet....so, yeah, I don't really think having a good record actually makes you a good player....being a spammer can get you easy wins when you don't play people who figure out how to counter.

tuxtos2011new
I was playing against him, I defeat him one or two times and then he chooses Kung Lao and begins spamming the hat, and with the lag is almost impossible evade it. I tried with many characters but i can't defeat him, he do the same combo string everytime and the last time gets desync and he call me a *****, ******, salty looser, etc... i just replied with: "If you are happy to win with lag, good for you"
He's in the chilean rooms, named "Chile" or "Chilenos" if someone can beat him :)
He isn't better player than me, at least offline. I know and can accept when someone is better than me, but he isn't.

There are other guys who have punished me but they're pretty good players (there was someone who land a 50% Kitana kombo, but it was 1 time in almost 10) and is cool playin against them even if you're who lost.

Pacmanthegreat (xbox360)
Ok this guy is a douche. He beat me two times in a row. I was like ok whatever. I finally beat him on our third ranked match and he decides to disconnect the game. What a dick.

As far as sindel spammers, the only real way to counter that "strategy" is using someone who can teleport. Sheeva is your best bet because you can't block her teleport stomp. I main Quan Chi and have a hard time pulling it off because his teleport stomp is blockable. Mileena is a good bet to especially when sindel is in the air, you can use teleport kick to quickly close the gap. Again, hers is also blockable and if not excuted with good timing can be bad news.

LilRay is annoying..

here's another -> jobbermania (ps3)- Mileena spammer
another in the corner, but this time spamming her Sai blasts or her teleport kick

Well, in all honesty, part of becoming even just decent is knowing how to beat these players.

Trust me, as a Johnny Cage player I know how annoying zoners can be. I have ONE move that can go through projectiles, one ****ing move. Johnny and Jax are probably the hardest characters to play against zoners. But it's still possible to win.

People play Sindel and Noob like that because that's how they are meant to be played. It'd be the same as me using Johnny as a zoner type character, it's just not gonna happen. Minus Sindel's few mixups, and Noob's "get off me combos" their pressure game sucks. They rely on shooting their projectiles as far away from you as possible. It's annoying and lame, but it's true. Especially since you play Sonya (a great pressure character with VERY high combo damage output) they don't stand a chance up close. Noob, Shang, Sindel, these are all meant to be played as zoners.

As for the Scorpion, Liu Kang, and Mileena, you should welcome these people. A Scorp who just teleports and spears? Block, Punish with a 40% combo, done. Liu Kang who only shoots fireballs and kicks. Use Sonya's lunge kick to get close, block the bicycle kick, punish with 40% combo, done. Mileenas who just roll are the best. You don't even have to low block. Just block, let them roll right into you, punish with 40% combo. As you said,
Most of them are easy because you just watch their pattern and you know when to block and when to go in for the attack
Use these people as combo practice so you don't freak out when playing someone much better. That's what I did and it worked wonders. Plus you get to see how players tend to use characters so you know what to expect when facing Noob, Smoke, Scorpion, etc.
