Also, whether a lot of the fans follow or like the story or not, the story is the heart of the series, i.e. the story majorly affects who will be in the roster. They can't have a legit story mode with multiple endings because then people will be expecting it to be cannon.

Example, you go through story and make it so that Baraka kills Kahn and becomes the ruler of Outworld, but in the next game, Baraka isn't even in it because he is dead. Get what I mean?
 
I read this and I just pre-ordered it from Gamestop, I'm not even kidding! Blood pumping for the new game, i wish i would recieve it sooner now...So many twists from back then!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad your excited for the game and I'm glad my summary helped.
However, keep in mind, the demo build was old; therefore, some things may have changed, been added, or deleted. I don't want you to get your hopes sky high solely based on what you read here, just in case some of it changes.
 
You should see some of the shitstorm happening over on MKO. Elitist MK die-hards that can clearly not take change, even though the original storyline wasn't as awesome as everyone makes it out to be.

Personally, I like the changes, though I really wish I hadn't read them now. *Sigh*

That's a new look for ya Kelsper. (Stryker) But as you posted the video, Boon as been notorious for screwing with us, so nothing is set in stone.

This is what I had before, actually. One of the only actual Stryker fans before this game made him awesome. xD

And yeah, I didn't really think the length of the script seemed 15 hours long to be honest, even without all the cutscenes and fights in-between it. Seems like it's missing something, maybe it's just me.

I agree. But the way the story is it's freaking amazing, so I hope this isn't a false script just to throw us off. I would much prefer they just add, change, and replace stuff from the script, because as stated, as is, it is already amazing.
 
I think the four characters that die (possibly only three) leads for a great twist in the story for the next game. They're under Quan Chi and Shinnok's control and both the Earth and Outworld forces are fighting to stop Quan Chi and get their friends and acquaintances back. Hell if Boon would let me, I'd write the story for the next game :P

*EDIT* I guess the Outworld characters don't really have "friends" but one of those characters plays a really big role in who has the power in Outworld.

I agree, being on MKO is depressing and people just need to accept the fact that shit's changed (although Boon's been telling them it will for a year...). But I like the story too, a little interesting in some places but very good overall.
 
I am so glad I am not the only one getting depressed for being on MKO. Some people dont like change. Don't like anyone to mess with their beloved characters. I have always preferred stories written by Vogel than Tobias ( Tobias is great and all ). Some of MKO are still stucked in the past.
 
I like where this story is headed. I like the shake up. A lot of people hate that one change to a certain person but the way it ties into the story is cool. If the leak isn't true wow somebody has way too much time on his hands to make this stuff up.

Also MK online is full of cry babies and whiners. I hate reading info on there because of all the *****ing that follows. LOL
 
Personally I think It is a much better story than the original, and it fits the atmosphere of this game. As Mortal Kombat is returning to a much more darker and sinister tone the series haven't have for a while. Also besides the gameplay, fatalities and great characters I also love the franchise for its great story and MK its probably the only fighter out there that has an interesting story.
 
Spoilers aren't spoilers for me until I actually see it in the game. So I can read anything I want but I wont believe it till' I see it.
 
Wow, I jsut read what SBW posted, my only disappointed is that there will be no more Sub-Zero in the future... :(
And i'm not changing my name to cybersubzerosmokerai or noobsmokerai.
However, all these plot tiwsts are pretty freaking epic, disappointing but cool as ****.

i would almost bet Smoke finds a way to get him human again. or, at least, someone will
