Cannot stand how NRS refuses to develop their villains. Why is Ermac still a jobber?! He was one of the most powerful heroes in the old timeline! Dude fought off Jax, Kitana, Kung Lao, Sonya and Johnny Cage all at the same time, but here he's still sucking Kahn dick?

And Reptile! Are you seriously going to tell me that, if he even makes it into the next game, his story is still going to be about restoring the Raptor race?

Huh? He's with Erron and Ermac in Chapter 7, and he's also among Kotal's troops that corner the group in the woods later on.

errmac we dont know how he will get involved maybe shang tsung finds him and find a way to bring shao kahn back with his soul and along with maybe the blood form skarlet toghter in the fleshpits we just dont know or maybe ermac just beciase an emperor with the souls he collected
 
With more time to think about it, I think I've hit the realization that I'm perfectly down with teh ending of story mode, but really annoyed how they got there. The structure of the story mode, which was probably the biggest reason I had to get this game, seems pretty damn bad. It's a big blow.

A bunch of mixed stuff.
Jax goes to sareena in the netherrealm and she sort of allies with the special forces and talks about shinnok (could be a bit shifty here)
Sub Zero and Scorpion form an alliance to go kill quan chi.
*stream cut off*
a few hours later I find a new stream, apparently quan chi was killed.
Raiden talks to bo rai cho, flashback to liu kang and kung lao kicking a bunch of tarkatan ass back when they were human, with raiden in his MK1 attire.
D'vorah, still loyal to shinnok, frees him from the amulet.
Jacqui has a short chapter, and just beats up people in a kotal ambush.
last but not least, Cassie kills Shinnok, (or defeats) with her newfound green energy powers, and the Sonya/Johnny/Cassie family is apparently pieced together, because Sonya is talking to johnny like they are still married, and loved again, with a bunch of sad lovely words you'd hear from a spiderman movie.
Jacqui and Takeda are in a relationship now. Was more so expecting it to be Cassie and takeda, but I'm glad with the turnout. they promise eachother a moonlight walk, but after kotals attack, they decide to date with a different surrounding.
Liu kang and Kitana are the leaders of the netherrealm, and assuming Kung Lao is prince just because it's probably given.

Pretty rough summary of 8-12 ^
Though I know for a fact I'm missing a bit. I'll edit it again in a few minutes.

He does die, I actually didn't see that specific part. The guy got banned right when it happened, and then the next person I logged in on about 3 fights after it happened.
But from what was said in the chatbox, it was apparently a brutal death scene.

Story Mode was the selling point that made me buy MK9. I like fighting games just fine, but I typically don't play online. Can't justify spending 60 bucks unless the game has lots of single player value. Regular Tower stuff doesn't really cut it for me on a 60 buck purchase.
