Kenshi started out as DLC in this new timeline, and he's been given the launch game treatment now. I imagine at least 1 MKX DLC will have a larger role in the sequel.

Let me get this straight: in the selectscreen, the primary looks of Liu Kang and Kung Lao are not even cannon? LOL What was NRS thinking? Why would you put an old version of a character when that never happens within the story?

Because story isn't everything? Most people play it because it's a fighting game, not for the lore. Many wouldn't like to see zombie Liu Kang and Kitana as the only outfits they have without having to unlock the rest (which is important, since most people don't unlock everything).

You might not like it, but NRS had their reason and I agree with it.
 
I really hope the gameplay is balanced and much better than mk9s . It really feels like they have cut corners story wise , let's hope it plays brilliantly .

I understand the 25 year area, but it's more like a what if now. Guess that's why they have classic dlc costumes for liu.

Even as what if costumes, they should have been alts. I would have preferred them to have primary revenant costumes (by the way, I personally think that all three - Kitana, Kung Lao and Liu Kang - look superb as revenants).

They really messed up the roster choices this time around.
 
I agree with Greyjoy above about the zombie uniforms.
I would be turned off if the first thing I saw over Kitana and Liu Kang's roster spots were glowing green veins.
I'm glad they went with bringing back the alive skins, canon or not.
After the reaction they got with making Kang's primary the ugly freak zombie in MKD/MKA, I'm not surprised.
I mean honestly, would you play a character with this icon?

Speaking of which, I would actually like an MKD/MKA zombie kang costume for MKX. Just to see how it'd look on this engine. Lol.

Fully agreed. I really want to see a story involving Edenia and/or the Order and Chaos realms. They're highly underused and I'm tired of seeing the focus on Earthrealm/Outworld/Netherrealm. I was so glad Kotal ends up as Outworld Emperor in MKX. If the position was left unclear/open at the end of MKX, Outworld would have a big role in MK11 again. But, no, hopefully we're done with that place for one game, at least. (I'm also glad Kotal remains in power because he deserves it, Outworld deserves it, and he's a brilliant character.)

Same here, but it's not his iconic look and it's his iconic look that sells him best. But did you know you can see alts in the select screen now? I don't see the problem with which costumes are primary and which are alts because of this.
 
-_- I hate that Liu Kang, I hate everything about all Liu Kang, I hate that ending but I'll skip the rage and make a cute smile instead, knowing that Liu Kang will still be my practice target. :)

I agree.
I even agree to this on others.
I mean hell, Revenant kung lao looks the best he's EVER looked. Kung Lao has always looked like generic annoying garbage to me, every game, from MK2 to MK9. But his revenant costume in MKX seriously makes me want to play it. I mean look at this badass shit. Wow. Kudos to NRS. This is one of my top 10 favorite costume designs they've ever done.
